For some odd reason my mouth was watering for pizza with anchovies, something I tried once before and did not like, but just thought I had to have as it sounded sooo delicious. When the pizza arrived I took a bite and it was the grossest stuff ever. It was a waste of money, I threw it in the trash but was able to get it off of my mind. Pregnancy cravings are so weird!

@ PattiJohnson LOL, I remember thinking they would taste good together. And they did. The funny thing is I'm a picky eater, I don't like my food to touch!

Kemper's cheeseburgers!!! It was a little hamburger joint in town. I loved the relish they put on them. This was with my daughter. With my son, everything since I had gestational diabetes and had to watch what I ate!

So how does one come to eating strange foods together like cucumbers and chocolate pudding? Were you initially eating a meal with both of them? or did you just decide that those sounded good together?
I know how strong my craving for oranges was (and I only ever ate oranges one or twice a year prior to that). I would go to great lengths to buy and eat them, so I can certainly believe the strange cravings!

no kids for me, but...I did share my sister's cravings (and some of my really close friend's).
My sis would call about something and in the conversation tell me that she had just been DYING for whatever food, and I was having the same uncontrollable craving. Same with two of my very close friends when they were pregnant.

Orange juice, pickles for about 2 weeks, mexican food, and closer to the birth, chinese food. But couldn't even look at an ad on tv for Hamburger Helper, and if I see the box, I sort of still feel "funny in the tummy". Oh, forgot Ice cream!

I craved nothing - I had the opposite response, in that foods I normally liked, I developed great aversions to. The smell of cooking broccoli or frying hamburger... oh... gag.... heck no........

I was just talking to my hubby about this today, I said, "Remember when I ate Cheddar cheese popcorn and Brier's ice cream almost everyday when I was pregnant?" I said this as I was trying not to be tempted by that same cheesy pop corn he was eating in front of me!
