You don't have your food diary posted, so I don't know what you've been eating. Have you been logging your food these last few months ? When someone tells me they've been gaining weight, the first thing I ask is whether or not they log their food. It may be you're eating more than you think if you haven't been paying attention to your portion sizes. You may even have a healthy diet. However, if you eat too much food (even healthy food), you could gain weight. So, if you haven't been tracking your food, I'm going to encourage you to start logging.

Now, if you have been logging your food and you have been trying to stay within a particular calorie range, then maybe it's time to talk to your doctor about your thyroid medication. having a wonky thyroid can make it difficult for a person to lose. It can even cause a person to gain weight.

Not to be nosy, have you recently changed birth control ? I know women who didn't change the way they ate or exercised and still gained weight. mind you, it was water retention because of the hormone change. So, it is possible that you could be retaining water if you changed your birth control.

Since we really don't know anything about you, what you've been eating or how much you've been eating or your full medical history, we're just taking educated guesses. thus the need to talk to your doctor for a professional opinion.

There are perhaps a few things that could be going on. Some are in the medical realm re your thyroid and possibly a medication issue. Are you on meds for anything else? They can sometimes impact on weight, negatively. Your Dr would be your best port of call for that.

I note that you had a lot of stress re your sick baby. I know from personal experience that sometimes we grab food that may not be the best choice, but that is what was available and we have to eat.

I also went to have a peak at your Nutrition Tracker. Do you use one? If not, then if you weigh all of your food and enter it in there - everything that goes in your mouth - you may find the problem and be able to tweak to ensure that you stay within your ranges. IF you are using it, tho', and you are withing the ranges that SP recommends, then ask your Dr for a referral to a Registered Dietitian, and take some random print-outs from your Nutrition Tracker to show what and how much you eat. I did this when I first had to go to one. I was steadily gaining even tho' I nearly always ate very healthy - calories and content. My Dietitian told me that what I was consuming is what they normally put people on to lose weight. She could see what the problem was straight away and set about rectifying it. The weight then started to come off - slowly, but surely. It took 16 months to lose the first 50lb, and I happily sat there for a year before deciding to move on down again. I am now at my goal and have been there for over a year. I STILL weigh all of my food and enter it into the tracker to ensure that I stay there.

I hope that your health providers are able to get to the bottom of the problem, and that there is a turn-around. I had 'put up with' being overweight for 30 years - it just took that Dietitian to spot the problem.

I'm sooooo frustrated right now... I weighed in this morning heavier then ever... and I do mean ever... at the height of my pregnancy I don't think I weighed more then two pounds more... my body's metabolism changed so drastically from before pregnancy, to pregnancy, to now... I know part of that has to do with my thyroid going high and now not even having one, but they say my levels on the meds are normal now... getting rather discouraged here... anybody want to give me a shout out of encouragement? Its almost shocking how much my weight has fluctuated in the last year.. and I feel like I can't stop the upward trend!

To explain, I was overweight when I got pregnant in 2011, and while pregnant developed graves disease (high thyroid) and couldn't gain weight for most of the pregnancy, only gained in the end about 10 pounds... then when I had the baby we discovered the high thyroid problem and after a couple months I had a treatment that destroyed my thyroid and was put on hormone replacement. in that couple months I dropped about fifteen pounds on top of what I lost right after birth... its been a little more then a year since, and since the treatment my weight just keeps climbing! I finally started making time in my busy new mom schedule to try to exercise and eat right, but it feels like my weight is just beyond my control... and I don't know what to do! I'm nearing obese now... and I have other health problems that just will not benefit from added weight.

Really needing the encouragement right now.
