Long-term goal is to lose 27 pounds; short term goal is to lose 5! And surely I can do that!!! Actually I'm not as concerned about the actual weight as in the fact that I would like to drop a size in my clothes.

Groove, how tall are you? If you're over 5'0", it might not be possible or healthy to get that low. If you're 5'4" or over, your goal weight would make you underweight, which is much, much worse for your health than being overweight.
Unless you are less than 4'10", you're not overweight. When you're not overweight, weight loss works differently. You can't really do it by dieting, because the number of calories it takes to maintain a healthy weight is very close to the number it takes to provide enough nutrients to keep you healthy. (In other words, a healthy body doesn't burn more calories than it needs to stay healthy.)
When you're talking about losing an amount of weight that would put you close to the underweight line, it's really important to get a medical-grade body composition test to make sure you have enough fat to lose. If you're already at a low body fat percentage, any weight you lose will come from your muscles, bones, and organs. (That's why being underweight is incredibly unhealthy-- it weakens every system, including your heart.) One of the good body fat tests is the same special full-body X-ray process that they use for osteoporosis scans, so if you have insurance, you can probably talk your doctor into ordering for bone health and then use the fat information to discuss with the doc whether it's safe for you to lose weight.
If you are under 4'10", it would be a good idea to put that information in your signature line so people don't tell you that you're going to be under weight if you lose that much.

You can do it, but remember that at 119, 10 pounds is a good percent of your overall weight which could make it a little more tough.

I'm currently around 7-8 pounds away from my goal of 125. I've lost 95 pounds in just under a year. I do find that now that I am so much closer to my final goal, the weight is coming off much more slowly, but I've given myself until September 1st, so I think I can do it!

I have heard that the closer you get to a goal weight, the slower it is to remove it. I've got 30 more lbs to lose before I'm in the upper end of a healthy range, but I also lost 30 lbs and kept it off for a whole year instead of bouncing up & down, so I count that as a success.

How many pounds are you wanting to lose to get to your desired weight? I want to lose 10 more pounds but seems like my weight is stuck at 119 pounds . In several weeks the scale remains the same weight.I constantly walk all day and try to watch what I eat but yet the scale stays the same give or take a few pounds.
