I am training for my first half marathon- Walking! I run 5k's but am taking this challenge slow. After my 40 pond weight loss my blood pressure is normal. I never expected that! Working out is my go to for stress. good luck on your new challenge. Have fun!

I am walking in the Lupus foundation fund raiser in May. This is my first one but it won't be my last. emoticon

I turned 52 this week and I'm walking in my first 5k walkathon at the end of the month. It's for a charity food bank. I also took a drug holiday off my blood pressure medication which has had side effects the entire time I've been on it. Day 12 and my blood pressure is stable and I've been walking/cycling every day. I think the combination of vigorous exercise (working up a good sweat) and taking life oils (flax, safflower, and fish oil recommended by a pharmacist) is doing the trick. Stay active no matter how bad or tired you feel. Resist the inclination to sit on the couch when you are feeling fatigued. Even little amounts of activity like a casual walk or working out with light weights while you are watching TV will give you natural energy and boost your mood.
