Try Agave necture. It's natural, and doesn't spike blood sugar levels as much as sugar. Also, I find that I use less which is a plus. I drink tea, not coffee so I don't know how it works with that. I'm sure the same. I don't taste a difference. Hope that helps.

very rarely, sugar is the great white evil. I notice my skin gets red/inflamed when I've eaten sugar so I avoid it for both health and vanity reasons.

hello sparkies,

it is now 9 days later and I have taken the sugar out of my coffee I occasionally use a no calorie sweetner but for the most part just creamer......yayyyyy for me..thanks everyone

I (gradually) stopped using sugar last year. I like to get cafe au lait which is half drip coffee and half steamed milk (nonfat). Steamed milk is sweeter than cold milk, which I like. Additionally, the cafe au lait is cheaper than a latte (at least it is in the NW)and drip coffee actually has more caffeine than a shot of espresso.

Try all natural sweeteners or raw sugar instead of processed sugar. It's still calories so just be careful how much you put in.

No sugar here! I use Equal is my fav however, I will still use the one in the pink pack as well. Splenda is not a favorite of mine! There are recipe books which will provide you with the proper way to use these products in recipes, as well.

try the flavored coffee creamers. There is a wide variety of delicious flavors. White chocolate mocha is my favorite. only 35 calories.

I too am kicking the diet soda drink my choice was Dr Pepper and I 'am not having any trouble there because of what I have found out is in those diet drinks I did however switch to crystal light until I found that the same chemicals are in that as well.
So now I drink water (plain Yuka yuka lol )
and coffee but can't seem to stand the taste of it without the cream and sugar lol but I do want to get healthy and lose weight and who knows after some time I might just kick the coffee habit as well then I won't need the cream and sugar and there will go at least 100 calories a day lol. but for now I don't want to deprive myself of everything I enjoy and just slip back into old habits without really noticing.

I quit smoking last July and I'm so proud of myself for that ...and if I can do that then this should be a breeze...RIGHT??????

in researching this getting healthy journey I have found that I don't want to use anything that is made with all of those chemicals that come with using the substitutes. but thank you so much for the suggestion.

If you really can't do without sugar in your coffee use it but make sure you keep track how much you add to each cup and log it into the food log. It might surprise you how much you actually use per cup.
Then cut back slowly on the amount you use, do it gradually so it doesn't seem like your depriving yourself.

I'm not big into all the artificial sweeteners. Since I've cut them from my diet ( I am a recovering diet Pepsi-aholic)I find that my cravings for carbs and sweets have almost disappeared.

You might want to try Splenda. It tastes like sugar and comes from sugar, but does not have all the calories.

I would give it a try. If you like it, you will be healthier for having done it. If it is unbearble, try using .5 teapsoon instead.
