Hi Sharon! Sorry to hear you are having some back trouble! It would really be best to talk with your doctor and get a referral to a physical therapist who can give you a specific program that is safe and effective for you. They would be able to look at your health history, but also assess you in person, which is not something we are able to do and without doing that when you have health conditions like this, it isn't safe to recommend any particular exercises. I would hate for you to try something and find that you further injure yourself. Swimming is always a good option. It takes a lot of pressure off your joints and gives you the workout you are looking for.

Hi Sharon, have you checked out ~Indygirl's blog here on spark people? I know she has a lot of health issues and mobility issues but she puts up a lot of good ideas for how to exercise with those problems, her blog might be able to help you. :) Good luck!

I am wondering what kind of exercise I can do. I have been told no bending push and pulling. Also cannot lift more than 5 pounds. I have two bulging discs in my low back pressing against the sarcastic nerve. Since I started my spark journey four years old I have lost 12 pounds and have kept it off. But now I am afraid of regaining it due to not being active.
