Do it for Him. He wants what is best for you, when we align our will with His, He does the work. I find planning, sparkpeople, prayer and most of all constantly talking with the Lord and asking Him when tempted for a way of escape are all helpful. Try making a list of all the reasons why you want to be at your proper weight and put it where you can see it. It's possible, it's for a healthy temple and the bonus is lots more energy and fun in life so that you can fulfill the purpose of why you are here on earth.

I think one of the most important things you can do is to start tracking everything you eat again. If you have an old tracker, pick a week where you did really well and repeat that week. Make sure to drink your water. That would be two changes to make right away. When you're used to doing them, try adding some exercise. You can do this. You know that because you did it before. It's always hard to get back when you've allowed yourself to get away from it. I know...I'm the champ! but these two things, in my opinion will get you back on the right path.
You might want to look into Spark Coach. I'd been away a YEAR and when I came back, Spark Coach was brand new to me. I think it's a great way to get back into the groove. And, if you want to check back in now and then, send me a sparkmail. I'd love to be sort of a buddy...an accountability person. I could use it, too.
Have you found a good team you can relate to? I'm in several but have one I call my "home team". They're all roughly my age and go through a lot of the same things. Makes all the difference.
Best of luck to you in your journey.

Hope your holiday was good. Continue to see the holiday as a positive blessing, even if you got off track with healthy eating. (You probably did loads of walking etc anyway!)
Don't beat yourself up. Why don't you pretend you're new to SP and cut yourself some slack because you're a newby? When I joined SP I changed the calorie ranges they gave me. I was supposed to have 15-1600 cals and I changed it to 1900 for several months because it enabled me to cut portion sizes gradually and I didn't feel a failure at the end of each day. (And I figured that 1900 was way better than what I was eating before.) It worked for me and now I'm mostly eating within the SP recommended range for me.
I'm quite sure you're not so far off track that you can't get back again pretty quickly, but don't worry if you don't manage it all in one go!

Hi, Deb !
I'm going to give you the same piece of advice as I did on your discouraged post,"Don't look at good health with an all or nothing mentality". If the only healthy thing you did for yourself today was drink 8 glasses of water, that's still a step in the right direction.
One over indulgent meal or even a week's vacation WILL NOT make or break your healthy lifestyle. as the old song goes,"accentuate the positive and eliminate the negative". give yourself credit for all the positive things you do for yourself and don't beat yourself up because you're not perfect.
You don't have to be perfect to be healthy.
Be kind to yourself as you would to others. Remember, you're trying to change habits learned over a life time. That's not going to happen overnight, a week, a month or even a year. change takes time.
After doing so well for months I got off track when I went on vacation. Ever since I have not been able to get back on track. But with God's help I am going to start to get back on track. Just need motivation.
