Not sure what to think of your plight except that it sounds like some "enabling" is going on here. I am an enabler and now it has stung me in the butt. If I don't do ALL the things that I use to do they will all hate me....oh well, C'est la vie.
Good idea about the cook book, I'll have to try that one. Spark on!!!

I am married, I live with my husband, sister and two kids. I work full time the commute is an hour plus each way. Apparently the people I live with's only goal is to make me happy, because no one, will make dinner, unless they check with me first. These people call me 6 - 7 times a day to talk about crap. But when they get off work early (like 2 or 3 pm) they don't call me to say, hey what would you like me to make for dinner. they all just wait until I get home at 5:30, and then they are like... what do you want or I didn't know if you were saving that meat for anything. So I would end up making dinner or we would order out...
So yesterday I took out all of the cook books, and told them each to pick something and a day to make it. Then I had them each search the pantry/fridge to see what needed to be purchased for their recipe. The list of dinner's is now posted on the fridge. So, if they get home before me, they know what the plan. If it came from a cook book, I put the book name and page number nexte to the recipe to ensure that they can't say I didn't know how to make the recipe.
