emoticon I had a stroke in 2003. Your walking is good and you will get better. emoticon

it is wonderful that you can walk a mile in 40 minutes. we must walk/run our own races, and remember that we are lapping everybody on the sofas.

Welcome to Spark! It sounds like you already know that consistent exercise over time moves us forward--literally, with your walking! Spark is full of good information and motivation for making small steps pay off. Be sure to get involved in the Getting Started information and tracking both exercise and eating.

Hi! I had a stroke 1 1/2 years ago. I have tried very hard to get up and keep going. I am now at a point where I can walk a mile in about 40 minutes. I was always a hiker before the stroke, so I feel like I am in slow motion, but I am trying. I gained more inches than weight the last year because I couldn't exercise much. I intend to try!
