Don't beat yourself up because you regained a little bit of weight. That is something that has happened to every single member of Spark People at one time or another. We're all experts at gaining, losing and regaining. That was the past. You can't change the past, but you CAN influence and change the future !!
One piece of advice I give to all new members and those looking for motivation is this,"don't look at good health or weight loss with an all or nothing mentality". If the only healthy thing you did for yourself today was to drink 8 glasses of water, that's still a step in the right direction.
When you started with SP, you set some goals. You need to do that again. Set some simple, reasonable goals you can stick with. Example, if you haven't been eating your veggies, set a goal to eat 2-3 servings each day for one week. If you're not drinking your water, set a goal to drink 2-4 glasses each day for one week. if you're not exercising, set a goal to take a 30 minute walk each day for one week. Once you've achieved these goals, then you set new ones.
No "all or nothing". Just a few simple changes. Because ONE small change can change your life.
Be patient with yourself and your body !!

Why thank you so much, Nancy. I had almost forgotten about the fast break goals and they truly are helpful. Thank you :)

Firstly, I would like to congratulate you recognizing the need to get back on track. For many of us, we don't recognize this until we have regained all the weight we had lost and gained even more so.
Remember what you did when your first started SparkPeople? We had you set some Fast Break Goals for you to strive to reach. These are small, yet realistic goals you are certain to meet. So many people believe that weight loss is a goal, when in reality it is the result of meeting the small, action we take on a daily basis that will eventually lead to a loss.
Healthy living is a lifestyle. Even if that means you are vowing to walk 5,000 steps a day or drinking water in place of soda or even eating one fruit/veggie at every meal. These small, yet realistic goals will get you back on track without the stress of having to revamp your lifestyle all at once.
You can do this!

I've managed to put in a whopping 9 pounds and can't seem to find the motivation to get back on track. I've been with spark people for over a year and somehow managed to keep up with myself alone with help of sp tools, but now, I've just been feeling so blue all the time and the weight gain does no justice. I'm feeling so discouraged and alone all the time that I'll pick up my weights one day then put them down for almost a week. And never the binge eating that seems to arise a whole lot more now. Can't be anymore disappointed in myself.
