I'm not going to comment on the Diet itself, other than to say that I don't believe in them - healthy, balanced nutrition and portion control is generally the best way to not only start a healthy lifestyle, but also to continue on it the rest of your life.
As far as the Flax is concerned, it is quite likely that you have upped your fibre intake considerably, rather suddenly. That is NOT a good idea. When fibre is increased, you really should do it slowly to give the digestive tract a chance to get used to the changes.
In the meantime, if you are still having difficulties, I would suggest increasing your water intake, and also ensure that you are getting enough fat. A lot of people cut fat right down or out - without realizing that our body, bowels included, actually NEED the fat.
IF you still have issues, then perhaps talk with your Dr about what has been going on! If need be he/she can give you something to loosen you up but not cause problems. Strange as it may seem, not all laxatives are created equal.
I agree, drink lots of water. The more fiber you eat the more water you'll need. Also, you can try taking some mineral oil at night before bed. That should get things started, it might take a couple of days to start working well. Just follow directions on the bottle (2 Tbls a night). Your body doesn't digest it, it uses it as a lubricant.
I don't know anything about the plan, so don't really know, but I do know that this can be a common side effect of flax if you're not getting enough water. If you eat flax you need to drink tons of water.

I would suggest asking on the Plan sparkteam. This is a general nutrition board, and most people are not familiar with this particular diet.

I'm on day 9 of The Plan. It's going really well! I've been eating all that flax and it's supposed to 'clean everything out'. It seems to be having the opposite effect on me/ I cannot go to the bathroom!
Is anyone else experiencing this? I'm still losing, although not as much as I did in the beginning. I can't figure out if its due a reactivity or due to the fact that I have not been 'regular'.
