Thanks again for the help. I am ecstatic about being out walking I try to push it just a house or two more every night. Have increased from a block to a block and 4 houses now. Before now I could barely make it across the street to my mailbox and back. Every day is an adventure! emoticon

that does happen to me too. i move my hands/arms around and it seems to stop.
it usually starts when my heart rate starts to rise.
i would take it as a 'good sign' that you are out there and exercising!! keep it up!!

Second, I agree with everyone else. Lift them, shake them, etc... just don't scratch them!

That happens to me from time to time also. I usually fix it by walking with my arms up like I would if I were jogging. It's normal but at the same time you should be cleared by a doctor before starting to exercise.

Thanks for the ideas and suggestions. It makes me less scared knowing it happens to other people too. When I talked to my dr. about exercise he told me "do anything I felt I could do". I have actually built up to be able to go out on the streets and walk at this point. Personally I am guessing that dr. told me what I wanted to hear figuring I would never exercise anyhow. I would go for a second opinion but with no insurance and every dr I spoke to when I had insurance telling me to have surgery well no thanks I will just have to go with the idea of it my body can't then it won't.

It usually happens if you are swinging your arms at your sides b/c blood starts to pool in your extremities. The previous poster has given you some good advice about changing your arm position and wiggling your hands.

That being said, if you are morbidly obese and new to exercise, make sure you get clearance from your doctor to begin activity.

yes, it happens to me all of the time. I just usally keep on keeping on and shake my hands and put them up in the air. I am sure I look silly, but it helps. I also make sure I alternate the posistions I keep my arms in. Sometimes I walk with them at my sides, swinging back and forth, other times I curl them at the elbows and pump them up and down.

I am extremely morbidly obese, I just started walking. I get about a block and my fingers start to tingle and burn, it continues until I stop walking. If I just take a break it will stop but then starts right back up again when I start walking again. It only takes about 10 seconds to stop. Is this normal? I know this sounds crazy but I haven't walked in so long everything is new to me. Somebody said it is probably just blood circulating, does that sound reasonable to anybody? Thanks in advance for any and all help.
