Every now and then, I have a fast food meal at Wendy's drive-thru. It's something I have to be able to work into my diet, because living my life without X,Y,or Z is just never going to happen. Wendy's french fries are tasty (so are McDonald's) so it's a real treat for me to have them when I want, keeping in mind that during the rest of my at-home dieting, I avoid saturated fats and I eat low-fat foods.
I have been on so many diets where foods were demonized. People complain about salt and fat, and yet those are additions to food that make it highly palatable in the finest restaurants. The difference is that in fast food restaurants, it's quick and easy and cheap. You can keep going back again and again. Not so easy with fine dining - it's pricey, you have to tip, and the portions are smaller but the ambience is inviting and restful. I've actually had some mediocre meals in very good restaurants, as well as some terrific experiences. But McDonald's, Wendy's, Burger King.... I'll still go to them, just not as often as I used to.
Good for you- I know I sometimes mindlessly eat things I barely even like. What a waste!
There is something delicious at Wendy's though- I think it's called the Apple Pecan Chicken salad. I get it without chicken since I don't eat meat and they even discount it for me. I'm not a huge lover of french fries so fast food is hard for me and I'm so happy to have found something yummy to eat when I can't avoid fast food!

Funny how your tastes change. ;) Sad that you wasted the money, but proud that you didn't eat the crap!
