STHRNLDY1969 You said it all. I feel exactly the same way. All the reality show arguing is just ruining the purpose of the show. Hello!!!! The majority of the watchers of this show, probably have an eating problem of their own, like me, and I think we all want more peace in our lives, not conflict. Peace leads to control in our lives, conflict leads to stress and stress eating. I felt like having a brownie last nite. In previous seasons, I felt like I could achieve weight wonders too like them, if I just worked as hard as they do.
lol...ladyjexie, seems like reality tv is taking over...there are very few reality shows i like anymore. the biggest loser used to help motivate me to lose weight. i'd see the determination and will power they had in previous seasons to lose a lot of weight and get in control, and i couldnt help but feel motivated to renew my committment to healthier living...but needless to say, i'm very disappointed this year.
i hated to see adrian go...i thought that just maybe after dolvett called conda on her negativity, complaining, backbiting, etc, that the group could have possibly sent her home. sorry to say, they didnt. felt he sorta got the raw end of the deal, and regardless of what he did, how much weight he lost, it would have not been good enough..if he lost more weight, they'd see him as a threat, if he didnt lose enough, then he wasnt trying...i also thought it was kind of strange that mark kept commenting that adrian had only lost two pounds and how he insinuated he was playing the game, but then mark's son, chism, only lost two pounds the prior week, as well, and that wasn't an issue?
oh well, just my thoughts...looks like next week may get interesting.

My thoughts are .....
I'm glad I decided years ago to not watch reality shows.
I love Dolvett too...but I cannot STAND Conda, what a negative B*tch! I wish they would have voted her off this week because I am sick to death of hearing her complain about EVERYTHING. She really needs to GROW UP!

Do I dare say it? I think I have a little crush on Dolvett. You can actually see the six-pack through his shirt!
I believe the producers may be encouraging the contestants to come up with more drama. I can care less if I miss an episode. The contestants do not seem to be vary serious. There is not one of them I am rooting for, Generally all the previous seasons I picked a few to really root for because of their willingness and tenacity to keep up with the program. Losing weight can be very emotional. I am ti9red of all the emotional baggage they bring to the show. I have been on group diets before and not one of us have cried yet. I will give the show a couple more chances and if it does not improve I have better things to do with my life. Such as Sparking!
I hate the drama this season. It just turns me off. Just encourage each other and work together to get healthy, that's the goal. The other stuff is just stupid. I'm in a Biggest Loser contest at work. I am in 8th place. At first I wanted the money, now I just want to lose. If I win, yeah, if I don't I still WIN and it's worth way more than the money. I used to want to be on the show, but it would be too stressful to be in that mess. I don't watch it religeously like I used to. Meh!
i have been watching and am still trying to pick my 'favorite', but am just not feeling it yet...i am really ready for kim and conda to go...they backbite, complain, whine and are just poor losers when something doesnt go their way....(and i really thought in the beginning that kim(wrestler girl) would be one of my favorites..
i was also really annoyed at how the aqua team got poor numbers on the weight loss, and everyone dogged them, but the others who had poor numbers were somehow justified..even bob justified chism's low numbers(and i like chism), but called daphne's one pound 'a joke'...i realize they had immunity, but they also had to not gain in order to have immunity,so who knows why they didnt lose more? change in appetite, work out routine? i'm just saying, its happened to us all, working out, eating right, then dont lose or even gain?....they also had to prove they were dedicated or they wouldnt have been able to lose over 50 pounds, and i think the other contestants were just upset they came back and posed a threat to them.
i hated to see gayle and nancy go...thought nancy was a bit goofy, but i liked her...i felt gayle just couldnt seem to get in the swing of things, but was proud to see them looking so well in the update at the end of the show.
anyway, just my humble opinions.
wishing everyone well and their weight loss/maintenance/healthier living journey!
I LOVE this show. It got me to join Planet Fitness! Most of us know we are not going to lose more than 3 lbs a week so can you imagine what they are doing under a drs supervision that we dont see on tv? And I also think whatever it is , its got to be healthier than surgery. I would assume they pick really unhealthy people and motivate them with the money. They have probably never dieted or excersised so the show gives them 1000percent of both and then they get home after losing the weight and have to maintain or lose a bit more and have the tools they need and by giving 100 percent can do it!. The contestants this season are a bit whiney and I dont understand voting the way they did the other nite, its still team vs team at this point and you would think they would have kept their team strong. Cant sit Nancy out next episode. I also think Bob is being portrayed as Dovettes enemy. Him and Jillian kinda worked together. But regardless I will continue to watch and enjoy it for what it is.
I DVR it and speed my way through the drama. I am not thrilled about this season at all. Two people, could not take the pressure have left. One ask to go home the other quit. I have no respect for them. The show in general has lost a lot of its luster.

I don't like it as much without Jillian but I am still watching. Not really connecting with any of the contestants either. I DVR it and I kind of just zip through a lot of the BS to get to the weigh in.
lostlime, i feel the same way...no one in particular seems to be my favorite...lol...although i have a couple that are definitely NOT my favorites...when i've watched it in the past, i usually had someone i was routing for by now, but that's not the case this time.
fran, the food challenges to me seem a little backward,too...i'm thinking my challenge would be to put me in a room filled with sweets or chinese or some type of food that i really love(about any)...and then see if i can NOT eat...the only possible thing i can think of is that they're trying to get them to see exactly how many calories are in each item and make their own choice....then its all about trying to work all those calories off with the intense workouts...regardless, i think its odd, too, to have overweight, sometimes unhealthy people with enough medical issues already scarf down as many calories as they can to win a challenge?
i'll be tuning back in, hopefully for the rest of the season, but i am hoping to find someone that i really want to cheer for 100%....guess we'll see!

thought it would motivate me to get going my self but with all the fighting among the players iI won't be watching it again all they did was make me want to eat. and i don't understand why they had a eating challenge to get an advantage at the weight in when this is a show about weight loss. seemed odd to me.
This season has been harder for me to get into than other seasons, but I am not giving up on it yet. It will take awhile to know the contestants and see what they are really like. Right now, it seems to me that alot of them aren't appreciating the help that they are getting and lack the motivation. I am a bit upset that Joe walked out because someone who really wanted to be there could have been instead of him.

Its hard to get into the show this season. Seems like its a bunch of whiners. They aren't losing as much weight as other seasons.

After watching it a few times, I 'm just not into it. Seems at times it exploits "fat people" and mostly I can't relate to the show. I could never afford a "fat camp", personal trainers, dieticians, cooks, and everything else shown on the show to lose weight. I applaud the ones that lose the weight and keep it off, their the ones doing the real work.

I've been a Biggest Loser fan since the very first show. I even began to fill out an application several years ago, but never submitted it. But, for some reason I'm having a very hard time getting into this seasons show. It seems that they are doing more b***ching then focusing on the true reason for being on the campus. I've really hope the Conda goes home next week. She seems like a very ungrateful young lady. On the other hand, I rooting for the aqua team, because they seem genuine about fulfilling the goal of becoming healthy. I do fill that they would appreciate any time that they would get being on the ranch. Then the real competition will begin and maybe the other contestants will become more serious about their weight lost. I've always been a Bob fan, but I don't know what he and Delvett are trying to do this season. I'm not sure I'm liking it.
I like Dolvett and would love to train with someone like him. I have never had anyone that would push me that hard that I could trust wouldn't let me get hurt. It does seem like Bob is kind of developing a maniacal gleam in his eyes this season. It bugs me to hear him whinging about how HE doesn't want to lose a weigh-in. Last I saw, it was the contestants who were weighed and who won or lost, not the trainers. Our boy, Bob, needs a reality check. The contestants are the stars of the show, not him or his exercises.
I agree that I am having trouble finding a likeable contestant to root for this season. There are a couple I would especially like to swat. I am not a fan of the aqua team, or to be more specific, the woman on the aqua team. She was full of trash talk and big promises, but when the going got tough, she quit. Sad for her brother. I hope they are both able to do well at home.
It does bother me to hear people gripe about how BL is "doing it wrong" when it comes to weight loss. I dare say that they have brought about quite a bit more of it than their critics have. And it seems as though their style of last chance, dramatic intervention is well supervised by medical professionals and may be saving the lives of many of the contestants. How exactly can an armchair quarterback call that "wrong"?

I don't think this show is "bringing down the culture"...there is far worse out there...this show has a purpose...help these people lose weight and win prizes! It's basically a game show with the biggest prize being weight loss if they can maintain it. Now what's the point of Jersey Shore or Real Houswives?
And I think most sane people know unless you can afford to have someone shop for your groceries and spend 3-6 hrs a day exercising...NO you wont get the same results. But I do take some of the exercise ideas that don't require use of gym.
I avoided the show like the plague the first couple of years because I was thinking oooh its so unrealistic, but after watching I think season 6 or 7 I was hooked. People need to be responsible for themselves. Take what you can from the show and use it.
That being said...I only like Santa so far lol. Dolvett is kind of getting on my nerves with all the competitiveness against Bob...it's not about you guys...it's about the contestants. And I think Bob is being really immature in regards to Dolvett...he should be flattered if Dolvett thinks his exercises are good enough to want to use for his training. I think that's one area that they may be amping up just to make it seem like there is drama there.
i was glad to see conda lose the weigh in,too. all that trash talking, then had to eat her words...lol
bob has definitely changed since jillian is gone...maybe he was scared of jillian...heck, i was scared of jillian..lol.
appreciate everyone's comments!

I am actually really surprised at how little they are losing compared to previous seasons.. Conda = ANNOYING, she is so quick to judge others and put them down.. I was glad to see that she had lost the weigh in.. I like the way you see Bob evolving since Jillian isn't around..

I love the show. I find it takes a few weeks to get to know the contestants sometimes I dislike someone and then they grow on me. However, this season Conda is really irritating me and she is from my local area! I wanted to like her really I did lol! Joe- good riddance, but too bad for someone who didn't make the show because of him.
thanks for the responses, y'all. i was hesitant to post too much because our cable was in and out last night, and i missed a lot of the show. i have to agree with pedal pusher in that my favorite team is the aqua team. i felt so sorry for the brother in that group when they left the first night when he said, 'no one wanted to go home a failure'...they both seemed genuine, and i hated to see them go.
i really liked wrestler girls determination in the beginning, but she seemed to turn arrogantly cocky really fast. she acted like a spoiled brat when she lost the weigh in and the week before when she made that near impossible bet for her and her team mates was a quick turn off...her attitude really shocked me.
conda is the other one who just irked me in almost everything she did and said. i've got to say i didnt see whether or not the other girl "cheated' on the challenge b/c that came while the cable froze, but even if she did cheat, she didnt have to act so childish and immature. seems like a bunch of sore losers to me.
i like chisim so far and i really like santa and his wife...other than that, i'm just really iffy on the rest of the contestants...seems like they're either crying, whinning or talking about someone else.
i've noticed a change in bob, too...and not good changes...i just dont think you can expect to get people as overweight and out of shape as some are and then have them exercise till they drop...i've been exercising fairly regular for several months, and i think most of their training would kill me...lol...i also dont think getting in someones face, screaming and cursing is a big motivator, either.
This latest episode was pretty weak. First, they started out with the excuse "I don't have time to eat right" but did little to nothing to show folks how to crush that excuse. They focused too much on "what to eat at a buffet" when they could have been showing folks how to batch cook meals or other helpful tips (the buffet tip wasn't even a "real" tip either--how many buffets have you been to that had steamed asparagus and whole non sugar coated sweet potatos--most folks go to a buffet to "get their money's worth" and that equals CHEAP deep fried and carb heavy foods).
I was dissapointed in Joe, too. I found him very likable (and such an infectious smile) and to see him just walk out was sad and pathetic. But I'd rather see a contest just pack up and leave then due game play things like waterload/throw a challenge in hopes of getting voted out.
I agree with everyone else who finds Conda insufferable. She's so immature and catty and irritating. Honestly, she reminds me of the trashy women who end up on shows like "Maury".
I'm surprised at all the bad sportsmanship, too. The wrestler woman (Kim?) acted like a spoiled child when she lost her face off. It was a disgusting display she should be ashamed of. I feel bad for her children.
I also find Bob Harper to be quite obnoxious this season, which irritates and saddens me. Normally I enjoy his nuttiness (and bit of popmpousity) but he's just so over the top. Honestly, it's like he's trying to make up for Jillian Michaels' not being around anymore. This most recent episode he was LESS obnoxious so I'm going to allow myself to hope he's calmed down.
At this point I'm not sure who I'm rooting for but I sure know who I DO NOT like.
I watched one full season of Biggest Loser and then have never watched it again. I found that many times the contestants cried and cried and cried feeling sorry for themselves but then would turn around and sabotage someone else. I know the show is a competition but I hated that it pitted people against each other in such underhanded ways.

Joe leaving was annoying. How many other people would love to take advantage of the chance he was given?! And he just threw it away. Conda's attitude was also driving me nuts. I didn't like her much after last night,.
I had a problem the first week with the guy who begged to be sent home, stating he had leaarned all he needed to know, then last night with another just walking off. They ssure made excuses for this NO EXCUSES season! My favorites are actually the poor aqua team who didn't even get a chance.........glad to see Bob followed up with them. I liked the face-off concept last night.
I think Conda is a sore loser and she totally lost the first challenge with Cassandra. Her whining made her look so bad. Joe just ticked me off by leaving. Saying that he missed his family was a cop out and a big disappointment.
I have watched The Biggest Loser every season. There is always a few that makes me angry. There is one that I'm not particularly fond of this season. I wish they would get her voted off. I think they get a few of those kind of people just to make the show interesting. I'm wondering if any of them have their hearts set on weight loss this season. They are usually getting higher numbers at weigh in. I don't believe in taking the weight off as fast as they do, but I do get encouraged and love watching the show.

I was thinking the same thing last night. There just aren't many that I want to cheer for. Actually, I even jump back and forth between wanting Bob's team or Dolvett's team to win. I'm not even sure on which trainer to like this year.
PS - yes, I realize that the weight loss experienced here is not normal, I don't watch it to get ideas, but I do like the inspiration.
I watch every season, and I am having trouble loving the contestants this season too! There are a couple who I believe are there for the right reasons, but many of them do not see the opportunity that has been given to them and are creating unnecessary drama. I agree that there is an element of "tv" that paints a picture they want us to see, but many of these people are morbidly obese and need immediate and quick action to save their lives. They are always under the watchful eye of a doctor, and you cannot argue with Bob's results. Many of the contestants have learned to live healthy lives once leaving the show and manage to maintain...
That being said...I do like Cassandra and Jeremy (but not loving his sister!!!!) Joe just made me mad....there are so many others that would have given anything to be in his spot!!!

I don't watch it normally. But my girlfriend does. Tonight I am at her house so we are watching it tonight. I am kinda mad at the guy that left. What an oppurtunity wasted. I may just waatch it from now on.
Is anyone else watching this season of the Biggest Loser? I'm not sure what it is this go around, but I'm finding it really hard to like a couple contestants. Also, I'm trying to be fair.. my cable was cutting in and out throughout the show, so I'd like to hear some others' point of view before I rant away! lol
