I measure key areas weekly at the same time roughly that I weigh in and log an overall figure for total inches lost or gained.

There's no "proper" way. It's just whatever you want to share! Most people, when they say "inches" mean waistline... but others have other things they're proud of, too.

It depends on what you're trying to communicate. If you're only talking about one area of your body then just the measures for that body part. If you're talking about overall loss, then it would be from whatever areas you measure collectively.

What is the proper way to talk about how many inches you've lost. Is it just one area like your waist? or is it a cumulative for all the areas you measure?
