They are not only a waste of money but dangerous. Heat exhaustion, heat stroke, loss of electrolytes come to mind. My son bought a set and I took it away from him with a firm lecture.

I have never understood running in the sweat suits since I get hot just thinking about going outside!

just as I thought. Thanks!

Yes, any weight you lose from sweat suits is water weight that you'll regain as soon as you rehydrate again. Those suits are dangerous because of the risk of overheating. Same thing with summer- sweating more is not permanent weight loss.

"No matter how slow you go, you are still lapping everybody on the couch."
i have never equated sweating and weightloss together. I exercise hard and i mean hard and I barely break a sweat and I have lost weight.

I see some people with those silver heated suits when they exercise. Isn't that a waste of money. I mean, if you sweat more, you're just losing water, right? My husband said that during the summer he loses more weight because he sweats more, but that's not fat loss. What is your input on this?
