I didn't even know those things existed, I was thinking of wrestlers as well when they need to make weight, but otherwise it just doesn't make sense

The best reason for sweating is to release toxins. I have a far infrared sauna that I use a couple of times a week.

I know boxers and wrestlers will wear them make weight, but no idea what reason other people would have. Course I don't get the appeal of "hot yoga" either lol

Don't sweat it.

They are not only a waste of money but dangerous. Heat exhaustion, heat stroke, loss of electrolytes come to mind. My son bought a set and I took it away from him with a firm lecture.

I have never understood running in the sweat suits since I get hot just thinking about going outside!

Yes, any weight you lose from sweat suits is water weight that you'll regain as soon as you rehydrate again. Those suits are dangerous because of the risk of overheating. Same thing with summer- sweating more is not permanent weight loss.

i have never equated sweating and weightloss together. I exercise hard and i mean hard and I barely break a sweat and I have lost weight.

I see some people with those silver heated suits when they exercise. Isn't that a waste of money. I mean, if you sweat more, you're just losing water, right? My husband said that during the summer he loses more weight because he sweats more, but that's not fat loss. What is your input on this?
