A general rule of thumb is that a 150 lb person burns about 5 calories per flight of stairs.

Or depending on your speed, 10-20 calories per minute. This is actually pretty intense exercise - it's just that most people don't climb stairs for all that long.

To give you a ball park a 150 lb person would burn 45 cals for 5 mins of climbing stairs.

You can use this and then enter it as a custom exercise if you like:

"Toning" is marketing muscles to women who are afraid if they pick up a barbell, they'll leave the gym looking like She-Hulk. It doesn't happen, what does happen is you get results. Lifting Barbie weights does nothing but waste time.

does anyone have a ball park figure on what they think the calorie burn is on using stairs instead of an elevator. the fitness tracker only has step ups. it only comes back with about 18 cals. can this be right???
