Spaghetti squash is amazing! Substitute it for normal spaghetti! There is a spaghetti squash bake recipe on sparkrecipes.com that I have tried and LOVE! search for some good ones Sweet potatoes are so great by themselves or you can make sweet potato fries!
Spaghetti squash can be a great substitute for making spaghetti instead of using the starchy kind. Just bake it and take a fork to get it out and then put your favorite pasta sauce on it or meat sauce and VOILA' a wonderful substitute.
Bake a sweet potato and add anything to it, butter, pepper, cinnamon, etc OR cube it and do the same thing. I like my sweet potato basic because it is very flavorful already.

Slice the sweet potato into rounds or wedges--not too thick. Toss with a drizzle of olive oil, cinnamon, brown sugar Splenda and cayenne pepper. Bake until browned and crispy--about 45 minutes at 400. SOOO YUMMY! The cayenne pepper gives it a little kick and balances out the sweet.
I love mashed sweet potatoes with various flavorings...one time I'll make wasabi, ginger and sesame oil and then the next I'll make them with brown sugar and cinnamon. I usually do it as a side though, which is partly how I get away with adding things like oil or sugar. The time I made spaghetti squash I baked it, then used a fork to make it stringy like spaghetti and then added sauce. It was pretty good.
Not too familiar myself with cooking sweet potatoes...
But as others have said on here, spaghetti squash is great in place of regular pasta. I made Turkey Stroganoff with my spaghetti squash and it was loved by many of my family members.
If you'd like my recipe, let me know. :) It (Anything) can be tweaked to your liking and needs.

I usually chop spaghetti squash into really thin slices, then steam it until it's soft and use it in place of pasta. As for sweet potatoes, you can do anything with them you would do with regular potatoes. I like to bake them and then sprinkle them with cinnamon.

I bought a sweet potato and a spaghetti squash last weekend during my grocery shopping and need ideas for meals... I want each to be the main portion of the meal but am a tad bit scared to prepare them both as it will be a first time for each of them. Any ideas or favorites are welcomed! I have perused the sparkrecipes too, just wanna know what the people like! :)
