In addition to Ruth's suggestions, frozen grapes are also great.

I love my blender. I'll take strawberries, lime juice and some ice and blend up a quick, healthy alcohol free margarita. Or add a little tequila for the real thing once in awhile. I don't add sugar and I'm getting used to the natural sweetness of the fruit. You can also use frozen strawberries and some water rather than fresh + ice. It's no ice cream, but it is a nice refreshing, cold snack.

Peel a banana and then freeze it (I wrap mine in plastic wrap first). Once it's frozen you can just eat it as-is (they don't freeze "rock hard"), or if you have a food processor you can cut it into chunks and then pulse it til it's relatively smooth. Low cal low fat cold treat. Tastes like banana ice cream.

How about some frozen berries? Whole strawberries do freeze pretty hard but you can sit some out to partially thaw. I buy bags of frozen fruit (just be sure to get the "no sugar added" kind) when they're on sale. I like partially-thawed peaches for a snack.

Hey get yourself an ice shaver and sugar free syrups. Just beware that those syrups are often sweetened with aspartame, but some are sweetened with Splenda. The ice cones are a wondrful alternative to ice cream.

I didn't even think of that on my own... you can thank the "Hawaiian Ice" guy that's been sitting down the road from me for two weeks. emoticon

I know the proper things I need to eat in order to lose, but on hot days especially, something cold like ice cream is good. nevertheless, like all snacks, which I overdue, I have to control how much I eat. I have exercised, yet changed my exercise schedule. I have cut weights down to lower numbers so I do not strain my body. I have cut down on length of time spent at the gym so I do not over due things either. I can eat healthy for my meals, but I have to learn to limit snacks to only 2 a day and they both have to be healthy. eating after supper I need to stop doing and also during the night when I wake up.
