HOLISTICDETOXER, do you mean bloating with air, or are you talking about water retention? Because carbonated water should only increase water retention if it contains sodium, which plain seltzer doesn't (but club soda does).

If I were you I'd buy bottled sparkling water for the transition phase, then wean myself off fizzy drinks. They can really increase bloating!
Faygo, Canada Dry and Cap 10 also make flavored, no-sugar and no-artificial sweetener carbonated water... even though there's not sugar in it I swear I fool myself. I drink 'em all the time, although they are pretty gassy. :)
I love La Croix brand (available at Publix and Target) sparkling water.....they have 0 calories and 0 sodium and 0 artificial flavors or sweeteners....lots of choices in light flavors like lemon, lime, grapefruit and even better with a squeeze of lemon or lime!! Not plain water but a great step if you are avoiding all the garbage in a can of diet coke :)
I am trying to wean myself off of diet coke - it's truly addicting. I have a hard time drinking 8 cups of water every day for some reason. I found a soda maker machine because I love club soda...does anyone know if this would be the same as regular water? I mean I know it's just with added carbonation, but would it count?
