There is no standard answer, as others have said, because 1 cup of yogurt weighs more than 1 cup of chopped broccoli. Whenever I encounter this problem, I usually google something like "1 cup of yogurt to grams" or "1 cup of yogurt to ounces." (Sometimes, ounces works better because both cups and ounces are American measurements, and then you can easily convert ounces to grams). This isn't always perfect, but it works. Here are a couple links for online calculators and conversion tables!

you will have to look up each food, but nutritiondata.com will give you info for a cup of the food item and list the grams in parenthesis.

A cup of syrup weighs more than a cup of flour which weighs more than a cup of cereal.

Cups are volume and grams are weight, and you cannot directly convert from volume to weight.

You should purchase a set of measuring cups. They come in a standard size and then you're not guessing.

For standard units of measure, 1 cup = 8 liquid ounces, which would convert to metric through the following:

1liquid cup = 236.588 ml
1liquid ounce = 29.57 ml

I'm not sure that you can convert cups to grams. Cups measure volume and grams measure weight.

You can, however, convert pounds and ounces to grams. An ounce is 28 grams and a pound is 448g.
