I love a few tablespoons of cooked quinoa on a bed of romaine lettuce, and other salad fixin's on that.

You can make sweet desserts with it, too- like this citrus quinoa parfait.

I sprout mine and then ferment it. I drink the water that it ferments in.

I, too, use it instead of rice when I am looking for a change. And I cook it in my rice cooker. Makes it easy.

If you are looking to add protein, lean meat would add more grams of protein per volume than quinoa for way less calories.

1c quinoa cooked = 222 calories 8g protein
1c tuna = 179 calories, 39g protein

Search for recipes of "quinoa pizza balls" --- they are simple to make and very delicious!

Another way I like it is in place of rice. Cook as you would rice, 1 cup quinoa to 2 cups of water. Season: italian herbs, bay leaf, cumin, black pepper, a bit of granulated garlic, and tumeric. Bring to a boil, then turn to low and let cook for 20-40 minutes. DELICIOUS!!!

I usually have it as the main part of the meal and add veggies to it while it's cooking, sometimes I add canned salmon to it too.

Generally use it in place of rice or other grain. Instead of corn, eat some quinoa. Instead of curry chicken with rice, have curry chicken with quinoa. Stuff like that.

Use in full or partial replacement for other grains rice/cous cous etc

Use to bulk out meat in ground meat dishes.

How do I add quinoa to my diet plan. has lots of proein but alot of calories. need some ways to sneak in to food. anyone have some advice?
