The psoas (AKA Illiopsoas) make up part of the hip flexor group. There are some people who consider it a core muscle, but remember, no muscle works in complete isolation of another.

are psoas and hip flexors the same thing? or are they slightly different muscles in the same area?

I have weak psoas muscles and overly tight hips from belly dancing a lot.

does anyone have good ideas of exercises to do to balance this all out?
