Figuring out how to get the maximum nutritional value for the fewest calories, carbs, fat, etc consumes me! I play around with different food choices on my tracker just to preview the damage I am contemplating doing. It's been a real positive eye opener. I'm beginning to learn that if I eat such and such, this happens to my daily goals but if I choose something different I can stay on track. Reckless as this may seem, I never approached eating this way before. Now, not a single morsel gets into the old piehole until I've analyzed it like a game winning chess move. emoticon

the thing that killed me was the serving size of pasta... emoticon OMG... i've been enough to feed a family of 8... if you where to "measure"...

Just do it , keep it in your mind this isn't going to be perfection but a goal to live a clean heatlhy life. As long as you can hit the mark most days you will be successfulI in the long run.

Say it ain't so! I would venture to say that would not include the scoop of butter you would customarily add to flavor it???? Really? what is white rice without butter?
I was amazed to see the appropriate portion sizes as well. Mostly on those items that say are low calorie or fat free...portion size 1 mini-mini cookie or a quarter size amount of..... I have learned to check serving size on everything and weigh (ha ha) out the larger portion size for the least amount of calories.

Nobody can go back and start a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new ending.

Your post made me laugh and I think it will motivate me to be more careful about serving size! emoticon

I am checking the calorie & nutrient & portion size of everything before I eat it. I have been amazed at just how much I had been over serving myself. Who knew that one serving of rice isn't the size of a Kleenex box?!?!
