I used to love pizza. Now, I really don't care for it. At our monthly staff meeting today there were 6 different types of gourmet pizza, bread sticks and cheese bread. I had a salad with a piece of chicken that I brought from home.
When you quit eating junk and try it again, it isnt very good.

I agree 100% it is ! For me it's because I love it but it hates me causing stomach issues the rest of that day! So I tell my bff if there is pizza feel free to lock me in a different room away from it!

This was exactly my indulgence today! This was the first time I have had anything that has not been on my meal plan for the last three weeks. It was so great, but I did feel guilty and now worried! But you just gotta love pizza!!!!

a delicious pizza substitute that I came up with when I was on the south beach diet, cook some turkey sausage and pepperoni in a pan and when it's cooked add whatever veggies or other toppings you like and mix in tomato sauce, then pour a couple of scrambled eggs over the ingredients and cover the dish... once the egg cooks add some cheese and flop it onto a plate. it might not sound that good, but it is deeeelicious. i actually crave that more than regular pizza most of the time.

What is it about pizza that is so tempting, delicious, satisfying, etc. ? I am born in Holland with an Italian stomach. Never even knew pizza existed until I was 15. I feel best about eating pizza when I make it myself, my own dough too. (I put ground black pepper in my dough or on top of it) Yummmmm.
Pizza can be tough - especially if you try not to eat ANY. My best days with pizza is me eating something with lots of veggies, not from a big chain, and having 2 pieces along with a salad.

@Bluenose: I know about those FOUR slices that was me before now I only eat 2. When I would eat 4 I felt like a bloated whale but still munched through them.Now thank goodness I have changed ,& I stop when I am full not stuffed like I just got up from a Thanksgiving Day dinner!!! Judy

During school terms my kids and i have pizza tuesday nights cos i get home late and saves me from cooking. Its our one treat a week and i usually eat half a pizza and half a serving of garlic bread. however tuesday i'm always active teaching 4 aqua aerobic classes doing 2 lots of teaching swimming classes at 4 hour sessions, coaching another advanced swimming squads which involves me walking up and down the pool and not to mention walking between venues for each of these activities. there is little time for me to actually sit down and each lunch so i eat small snacks throughout the day. Even though i do sometimes exceed my calorie limit throughout the day so far since i started this journey i don't tend to put on weight. When the kids and i are on holidays we don't eat pizza at all. i believe pizza only becomes the devil when u choose to eat it everyday or more then once a week
My daughter is bringing a friend home today after school so pizza and salad it will be. I am going to stick to two small slices of cheese pizza with a nice size salad with low cal dressing.

Mmmm, pizza. My junk food of choice. If I'm out of the house to eat in a fast food sort of situation, I almost always get (one slice of) pizza unless something healthier looks especially appetizing that day. Even so I'm only averaging about a slice a month, since I'm just not in those situations that often. Works for me.
Alas, I have the best and worst of both worlds. My hubby owns a carryout that specializes in pizza. I love his pizza, but must pace myself.
That being said, I (like MANDIETERRIER1) like Dr. Oetker's as far as frozen pizzas. I only buy them when I have coupons.

There's a pizza recipe in the SP database that we really like. It's not greasy (of course), and it has tomatoes, basil, and feta on it. It's really good! Making your own pizza also enables you to keep the sodium down, which may not be an issue for everyone, but I really try to limit it.

i love pizza. like, really, really love it. it kind of became a problem. this year my husband and i gave it up for lent. i thought it would be torture, but surprisingly it was okay. we did a similar thing the year before when we gave up pop (or soda for you non-midwesterners). we decided that once lent was over, while not completely giving it up we needed to set some ground rules. we don't keep it in the house anymore and it makes a HUGE difference.
so, similarly, we needed some rules for pizza once lent was done. we can order, or go out for pizza once a month, and have (semi) homemade pizza (which can actually be fairly healthy) once or twice a month. that way we're cutting way down, but still get to indulge sometimes as to not go totally nuts. it's been working really well for us. until about 2 weeks ago, i'd gone a month without it and didn't even realize it.
Yeah I have to just stay away from pizza and I am ok with that decision. With my lifestyle change I would much prefer a salad loaded with lots of veggies. Couldn't have said that 4 years ago. PROGRESS!

Got a meeting to attend, at which there is ALWAYS pizza (I'm the one that has to order it). It's just greasy lukewarm delivery pizza. It's not particularly tasty or special. It smells amazing, but...
I'm not even going to try and "work it in" to my day because (beyond the heavenly pizza smell) it just isn't good enough to bother.
When I splurge I expect something more delicious than cardboardy too-much-crust lacklustre pepperoni from the local 2-4-1.
Goal 1 - break 200 (46 pounds lost)**DONE** Goal 2 - leave obesity behind (BMI 29.9, at 185#) **DONE** Goal 3 - BMI = Normal (154# or less)

I try to plan for pizza, which I also love. But the plan almost always includes a salad to go with and two slices of pizza.
If pizza is the devil, then so is sugar, and chocolate, and the list goes on ... :-)

I like Dr Oetkers Restaurante style pizza. The Pizza Margerita and Spinach pizza.
Although this is still a high calorie and fat treat. It is not as high calorie and fat as regular restaurant pizza. And don't get me started on other frozen pizzas, that stuff is just nasty

We do pizza once a week and it is a challenge for me. I plan my day to have one slice and I eat a big salad with it. If I give in to temptation and eat more pizza, I log it and try to move on.
Real italian pizzas (in Italy) are not unhealthy at all. They don't load it up with tons of cheese and the crust is usually paper thin. I'm lucky enough to go to Italy often (I live in Germany) and when I'm there I eat LOTS of pizza and never gain weight.
You don't stop doing things because you get old--- you get old because you stop doing things!

love pizza and I'm not giving it up. I eat it at least once a week but I make sure I stay within my calorie range. That's easy to figure out when you know what you are eating. I currently live in Italy so eating pizza out here is hard to figure out so I rarely do it. But even so it is way healthier than American pizza. Thin crust not loaded with grease and all freshly made.

I don't believe in devils or demons, but I KNOW Pizza is not good for this fat guy. It's like my heroin. I just don't eat it. I have tried to make a couple, I even have a recipe on SP but alas, it will just make you want the real thing that much more. Pizza has too much Fat and Carbs to even be considered a food in my book.

Pizza is definitely a dangerous food choice for me. I usually only eat it now when I'm planning on having a "cheat" day. I try to stop at one or two slices, but it's so HARD! :(

Try again, and fix a salad on the side before the pizza comes out of the oven, to help fill you up. We love their deLite pizza's, even my husband likes the veggie one, but we usually get something with chicken. The weight gain is temporary, from the sodium, which alot of different foods are well known for, it goes away. Thank goodness there is a lighter pizza to even purchase. I make ground turkey pizza's at home, thin crust, add cut up bell peppers and reduced fat jack cheese. My family likes that one, too, but we wrap up the left over slices for lunch.
Plan for tomorrow, but enjoy the heck out of today.

I love pizza, and lots of other foods too. Instead of nixing tempting foods, it is important to learn to eat them in moderation. I'm not a fan of total deprivation.

OK...MAY BE the devil. Seriously, I had my whole meal planned out...I got a deLite pizza from Papa Murphy's and figured I could eat three pieces and that would fill up my calories for the day. I think pizza must be my downfall...cuz I ate 6 pieces...eeeeek
