I don't have personal experience but I had a friend on lithium just kind of follow a common sense, reduce the calories, up the exercise. Nothing insane, just kind of started tracking food, choosing more nutritious items, and began with low movement exercises.

There is a thryoid team on Sparkpeople who may have more insight.

I don't have personal experience, but I've known people who have. There's no specific type of diet or exercise - it's just finding a routine and plan that works for you and sticking with it. You do have to work a bit harder than the average person because of the medication, but it can still be done with support and perseverance!! Good luck!
