Make sure you're wearing good shoes that fit properly and aren't worn out. Bad shoes can give you all kinds of aches and pains.

That sounds to me like it's your shin muscles hard at work. I find it helpful to kneel with the tops of my feet flat on the ground after a long walk to stretch out the muscle. Other than that you can strengthen the muscle by straightening your leg out and flexing your foot, as though you're trying to touch the top of your foot to your shin.

Hi, I'm trying to walk and I get burning pain in the front of my lower legs from halfway down from the knee to where the ankle meets the foot. Is this shin splints or just a lack of muscle? What should I do?
