Somewhere along the line a consult with a physical therapist with expertise in your area might be good. She/he can recommend things that will strengthen the right muscle groups and allow you to exercise more with less discomfort.
But hang in there... the attitude is good, and you will prevail!

You might not be able to overcome pain with exercise. I know I can't.
When I have bad days, I do what I can. When I have good days, I do more.

I have a great deal of knee pain even though I have had knee replacement surgery and two scar tissue removals on my left knee. My right knee is also replaced. Yesterday I did a chair dumbells and pilates exercise tape. I have lumbar stenosis and found the twisting exercises caused me to have back pain today. I have a recumbent bike and that is working out well! I know I'm sounding like a sad person looking for excuses, but I'm not sad; I'm mad that I can't t do what I would like to do. Does anyone have pain issues and how have you overcome them with exercise?
