Losing inches is SUCCESS :-)

I would be inclined to keep in close contact with your Dr, tho' - particularly as you have just been put on the Insulin. Have you been to a Registered Dietitian? If not, asking your Dr for a referral to one might be very beneficial to you.

Hopefully you are weighing all of your food and entering it into the Nutrition Tracker. When you go to your appointment, take some printouts with you. That will help immensely, and save heaps of time.

Good luck,

Are you on a sliding scale insulin program or long acting? How often are you measuring your blood sugars?

Have you talked to your doctor? That's the first step. Getting your blood sugar under control is the top priority, and sometimes that does affect weight. Keep your doctor informed about any changes you notice in your weight and in how you feel overall.

Also, how much do you have left to lose, how much have you already lost, and how long has it been since you lost? If we're talking about a few months with no change in your weight, that might be cause for concern. If it's a month or less, it could just be a normal slowdown. Weight loss doesn't happen in a straight line; it's normal to have spells where you don't lose for a while.

I agree with the previous poster that if you're losing inches, you are making awesome progress! Are you tracking all of your food and staying in your recommended calorie and nutrient ranges daily? Are you doing any strength training? Do you vary your walking routine regularly?

Check out the Zone Diet. It fits in very well with Spark. In fact there's a Zone group on Spark, though is more or less inactive at the moment.

Lost 100 pounds with the Zone 18 years ago and have kept it off!

"and am losing inches"

You are losing - just not on the scale yet. Some people don't show their weight loss on the scale right away...they show their loss by losing inches.

Step away from the scale for a bit :) It's just a meaningless number for you, as you are indeed losing!!

Keep doing what you are doing. Keep up the exercise, and track your food every day.

If you need to, watch your sodium intake - you can add it to your tracker. Sodium, for me, is my biggest problem...too much (yet still eating 1300 cals a day, everyday) and I either show no loss, or even gains - which is impossible at an average of 1300-1400 per day.

Edited because I cannot seem to type very well today :(

I am a type 2 diabetic that has just recently been put on insulin. I was losing weight, but now with the insulin I am just staying the same. Does insulin make you gain weight? I walk 7 days a week and am losing inches, but not pounds.
