Don't tie your emotions to the scale. There really is more to good health than a number that stares at us from between our toes in the morning. 1.5 pounds is nothing. I've said this before. I can easily gain or lose as much as 3-4 pounds in a day because of a change in water retention.
There are lots of different reasons the scale could go up that have nothing to do with the food we eat.
Now, I'm going to get TMI, but did you have a bowel movement this morning ? If you didn't do a poop this morning, the physical weight of all the food you ate the day before is still in your intestines. The food you eat has weight. The water you drink has weight. I can prove it.
Try this some time. Weigh yourself before you go to the bathroom. Then weigh yourself right after. Did you lose weight ? YES. Did you lose fat ? NOPE. The same would be true if you drank 2-3 glasses of water. Weigh yourself before and after drinking 2-3 large glasses of water. Was there a change in the scale ? yes.
I really do think you should consider ditching the scale for a month or longer. You end up miserable every time you get on if that number isn't something you like. that's not healthy.
A person's self worth should NOT be determined by a number on the scale.

Remember your weight is not a static (constant) number, because our bodies are made up of well over 50% water, anything from diet, to your workouts, to your hydration, even hormones can cause a fluctuation in your weight. Weight loss is not based on a single weigh-in, but the weights over a period of weeks--what the experts call trending.

get me down...i did my weigh in today and i am up over 1.2 lbs from last week ( back into the 140s ;-( I am not knew to this, so i understand that it could be a number of factors that could effect that number. But i am just hoping its not the past dinner i had last night. i know this week i did not eat an extra 3500 calories but i did have a larger portion of pasta last night than i have in a long time. I was so hungry, i had been kinda ill all week and just barely making my calorie range to begin with.
I know this is stupid but i guess i just need the reminder that, sometimes you gain in weeks but it will keep going in the right direction.....
