Ya in two years I've lost ten pounds. Granted it would have been 17 if I didn't get injured and gain seven pounds back. Still exercising but fighting through all the discouragement really sucks. PCOS just stinks.

Slow and steady is the best way to go. Your body gets use to the whole process and you will see that over a whole year you will probably lose quite a bit of weight.

That's great. You are trully an inspiration to me. I personally have been trying to stay away from the scale for awhile because I have been puttting too much stock in it. I am back walking daily, riding my exercise bike, and doing a few aerobic exercises. I am feeling emotionally better.I know that I will reach my goal one day. As the old saying goes "Slow and steady wins the race."

I was there...for 5 weeks...broke sweat 4/5 times a week, but the scale wont budge .My blood work showed i was B12 and vit D deficient ..taking supplements and have cut down grains drastically from my diet(intend to bring them back in moderation for maintenance) and now the scale shows some downward change in proportion to changes i feel in my body..
You are inspiring and so true. You can't give up if you don't lose pounds but if you are losing inches, building muscle and feeling great you are on the right track. thank you for the motivation. Keep it up!

I was inspired to read your post, i just started again after a period of being very sad after my father died. it meant i put on more than 12 pounds again over 6 month period. so the last 1½ month I've been at it again, thought i was getting nowhere because i did not loose any weight but to day this morning when standing on my scale i have lost 2 ponds since last week, so yes it will come just have patience. keep fighting it will come..

Same thing is happening to me. I have lost about 12 in the last 6 months but I feel great and can do SOOOO much more than I could when I started, even so much more than I could last month. We just gotta keep on keeping on. :)

I have the same problem @ my last weigh in I had gained a pound. Before I would have gave up but because of SP now I know it was because I haven't gotten all of my water in and now I can adjust that and hopefully then I will lose again.

TRICHARDS19, though frustrating, I always tried to look at "no weight loss" as a victory. Another Sparkpeep put it something like this: When you're not losing (but doing everything right), consider it as a maintenance phase practice run.

Thanks for all your cheers. I LOST A POUND finally! Nice to break through that plateau after 4 weeks! And I ran a full 2 1/2 miles today at 5 mph - way faster than a couple of months ago - and I feel great!

Trishards, you are singing my song!! About the slow (and sometimes frustrating) weight loss, all the non scale victories and the NOT GIVING UP. I am so thankful for SparkPeople and the main reason is my health. My blood pressure is down, I'm no longer pre-diabetic and all the indicators in recent blood work were better than before Spark. Keep on keeping the Spark alive! I know it's slow, but when we DO lose, it will be that much sweeter!

In the past 6 weeks I've lost 2 pounds. But I know that I've built muscle, I have more energy, my clothes fit better, my thighs are firmer, I can run 2 1/2 miles at a time, and I have, most days, eaten within my calorie range, have eaten more vegetables/fruits in the past 6 weeks than probably the past 6 months, and I am confident that this is the right path. The weight is taking it's sweet time to leave, but I'm not giving up!
