Thanks Bill,

I know I have to do one day at a time. But, I just have so much trouble getting motivated. And I don't just mean getting motivated to keeping a healthy diet. But, I also have trouble getting and maintaining a routine exercise program. Do you have any tips you can share with me? I need to loose about 80 pounds, so it's not easy getting started.

Thanks Becky,
It's just like you said: I struggle to exercise. And after giving in to my temptation, that feeling is so overwhelmingly awkward until I just don't know what to think of myself. My feeling of self-worth is so low that I don't feel like I can accomplish anything. And for some people it seems so easy. Why is it so hard for me?

Some days are harder than others. Just remember that each day is a new chance to do better.

Good luck!

Like Stacy said, you are not alone! I struggle exercising, and I just love junk food. When I give in to my temptation, I feel worse afterward. When I eat healthy and exercise, I feel on top of the world. I know, easier said than done. It's not going to be easy. Think of how amazing you will feel when you reach your goal. I know you can do this. Take it one pound at a time ... baby steps .... progress, not perfection.

We are here for you!!

Trust me, you're not the only one! I also have a problem getting myself up and moving, and it's hard to even walk for a few minutes when you feel depressed and alone. Even worse are the cravings that just won't quit (the only way I found to stop myself from eating everything in the house is just not to buy junk in the grocery store). But you've got to remember that you (and your body) deserve to feel better than this!

And hey, you've taken the first step and using SparkPeople, just try not to get overwhelmed and take one little step each day - that's what I try to do! :)

Your are not alone! I too am in the same battle. Try to check out more of the message boards for inspiration when your feeling down. If you need help remembering, write down a reminder note that simply states "eating comfort food leads to depressing feelings later".

Hope this helps and best of luck! emoticon
