Support on SP is great. It's good to have one or two people you can confide in but SP is a sure way to stay motivated. That's what makes this site so great!
Food tracker + Exercise ideas/tracker + Motivation (blogs, message boards, success stories, articles) = SUCCESS!
Keep logging on and tracking yourself. It will take time to get the hang of it. Make small changes over time and add healthy activities INTO your life (like you've already started) and healthy foods (fruits, veggies, whole grains, lean proteins) into what you eat...start drinking water if you haven't already...you don't have to do everything all at once. It can be overwhelming to think of changing everything overnight. Just make small steps in the right direction and you'll get to your goal! Stay focused on what you want and you will achieve more than you thought possible. I've changed so much in the last year on SP. I've changed my attitude about exercise, food, motivation and I've done things I never would have imagined (making healthy recipes, eating more fruits and veggies, running a 5k--first time running since a mile in high school! and then even a 1/2 marathon!) I didn't start everything at once. I started just like you, tracking, adding exercise, drinking water and it just built from there. You CAN do it!
