For myself, it took me a long time to learn to listen to my body's own rhythms when it's hungry and when it's not, so I dislike eating when I'm not hungry, even if it means I don't meet my calorie goals.
I don't think a day here or there of not meeting the numbers will hurt you.
On the other hand if you find you are consistently coming in under your calories, re-check your diet and fitness goals, and if they're accurate, try eating nutrient dense foods like eggs that are higher in calories and smaller in size =]
