I've been frustrated with the scales too - especially as I'm only a few pounds away from being overweight instead of obese. But, even though my weight doesn't seem to have budged in 6 weeks, trousers that fitted 6 weeks ago are looser now - so something's going right.

I agree with SLASALLE. The scale isn't a particularly good measure of your progress so you should use other metrics like the ones she mentioned.
Also, when starting a new routine, our bodies can take upto 6-8 weeks before we start seeing changes.

I totally understand your frustration. Weight loss is a weird thing, and it happens differently for everybody.
The first thing I want to say is that it is not likely that you put on all of your weight in 3 weeks, so it won't come off that quickly either. I know the issue here is that it's been 3 weeks with NO change, but the point is patience.
Second, are you tracking everything? Food and nutrition both? There are SO many variables. You could be working out like crazy and not eating enough food. Or you could be forgetting a few things that you eat that might be adding up.
My best advice - just keep doing things right and try to find other changes. The scale is NOT your only measuring tool, BY FAR. Sometimes it takes our bodies some time to get used to changes. Did you take measurements? You could be losing inches before the scale is showing it. Are you clothes a bit more comfortable? Are you feeling better because you're eating better and working out? Find some other measurement tools or if will be a more difficult journey for you.
Most of all - the only failure is to stop trying. Pay attention to what YOU are doing right and focus on that, not on what that nasty scale is doing wrong!!!! Scales are NOT our best friends :-)
