Walking is great exercise. My grandmother still walks two miles a day and I credit her great health physically and mentally into her 80s to her walking. 5 miles a day is a great goal. I do agree however that it is good to have variety also. I hope you we not trying to lose 20 lbs in a month. Good luck!

Don't try and rush more than you've been doing.
It's a lifestyle and lifelong commitment - not a race with an end point so you can get back to what you think may be 'normal'.

This menu/lifestyle is supposed to be your new normal

I think variety in your exercise is a good choice as well as variety in your food choice. I tend to eat the same things everyday and got on a major plateau, when I added variety the weight started coming off.

hi
as becky rightly pointed out, if u are not new to walking u may try 5miles a day.what is important is how u feel at the end of it.for some 3miles might be a good enough workout while for more experienced people 6-7 miles might do the trick.so find out what is ur threshold for a great workout..

also this being your last 20lbs it might not come off that easily.so just be patient and take it slow... after having come so far ,this shudnt b hard at all ... emoticon

i wud suggest trying different cardios on different days just to keep the variety...

Well, a good approach to losing your last 20 pounds is the same as your first 20 pounds or a middle 20 pounds: eat healthy and exercise appropriately.

Is walking 5 miles per day appropriate for you because you're an experienced exerciser and you've walked at our near that much before? Then do it!

Are you just impatient to get that last 20 gone? Well, slow and steady wins the race. You're working on an eating and exercising plan that you can live with for the rest of your life. Won't do you much good to kill yourself in April, reach your goal, then gain it all back in May.
