You make a good point, calm and peaceful always helps. I too am a Christian woman and find peace in my reading of the Bible and other religious writings but they are NOT my ONLY sources of peace, serenity, or calm. Music, books, candlelight, meditation, gentle movement, etc. may SOUND new age but can be Christian also, depending on the person using them and how they are being used. Candlelit church on Christmas Eve with quiet music and also joyful music use some of the same things that new age.
With love and caring from Nancy ... wishing all of you a wonderful, blessed, and precious day.

Hi everyone, I'm new here and was excited to have something to offer up (I've been whining and having a big pity party for myself since I've started lol).
I'm not saying all of us, but many of us have weight issues linked to anxiety and depression. I happen to be a very anxious, hyper, high stress person. Sometimes the food (and I'm obviously not talking about celery sticks or carrot sticks!) is the ONLY thing that can "bring me down".
So I just wanted to share this suggestion as it tends to be an absolute life saver for me. Go to musicchoice.com and select "soundscapes" genre. It is all meditational and new age music to soothe the soul. Also, accompanying the music are beautiful, serene pictures of nature.
Now I'm a very devout Christian woman and yes the Bible is my number one source of comfort but even for those that aren't into the whole "new age" it is a calming, relaxing way to relieve stress and anxiety!
I am not lucky, I am blessed and I do not believe in coincidences, I believe in God - Jen
