Hey SeattleLife, I work from 8-430 downtown Bellevue and 5-10 in Everett. I only have time to workout like on the stairs in the Bellevue building and on weekends. My food is good, no problems, dont even eat the office "free bagels" and candy. I just need to not have a cheat day on Saturday. I love Sparking!

Nice job with the 220 minutes! I know how you feel about the scale... hoping you had good results! (btw, do you always weight yourself at the same time of day, such as mornings?)

I had a very bad weekend, but have vowed to get back on track.. had boot camp today and ate well.

Hi All!
I've had a fantastic week- ate great most days and passed my fitness minutes goal, 220 minutes 2222 calories burned so far!
Hoping to see some results on the scale this week- I know the scale's not everything, but I'm sure getting frustrated with seeing the same number every weigh-in

These are nice techniques for fitness....
For muscle builder or an athelete exercise is a formost and vital part of their life....
Without these two things they can't get their fitness performance

Just a quick check-in: had a good day. "worst" thing was low-carb pita with salsa. No gym, but went for a walk with my dog Bella.

Good work, IamJoyful!

I did well these past 2 days. Yesterday, Friday, the worst thing I had was 2 glasses of white wine when out with a girlfriend.
And today, even after being with family at dinner, the worst thing was a handful of almonds.
Hit the gym both days, and did 2 miles, and decent strength training.

Hi all, I'm new to this message board, looking for accountability as you all are. I started eating well back in March, and was doing great. But, after minor surgery in July, I'm been "off" ever since. So, starting last week, I'm getting back on track, but it's been a bit hard for me. I've thought, "If I had to tell someone the worst 2 things I've eaten all day.. I probably wouldn't eat them." So, then I found this forum, and it's time for me to get started!
Looking forward to getting my mojo back!

Worst things: piece of cheesecake, 1/2 cup of white rice
I did go to the gym, but did only little cardio-- 1/2 mile. Did good strength training.

Hi All! I'm back after 4 days offline with company in town. My parents were here and I always struggle with eating when company is here, especially when it's may parents. Day 1&2 I did great, day 3 I did okay, day 4 was bad...
but I'm doing pretty good today and ran 3 miles this morning.

I haven't lost a single pound in a month- but I went shopping the other day and have lost a size! I knew my things were starting to feel loose but since the scale hasn't budged I still tried on the same size I've been-they were too big! Yay! Don't know how I managed to get into a size 14 again without losing a single pound- but I'll take it!

Losing an inch is awesome!

Streak day: 2

Motivation: a healthy body

Accountability:
eat when hungry - I forget how little food I really need
enjoy what I eat - enjoyed everything I ate
stop when satisfied - I was a little more than satisfied and wanted to eat more (emotional hunger). I realized I wasn't hungry for food, I just was getting a little tired.

I measure but the intch I lost doesn't feel as good as seeing the scale go down. haha I should be happy about that though.
We are now in the process of moving to a different home. same city just 4 miles difference, so we won't be hireing anyone to help. I cleaned out part of their chicken run for my chickens and there is stinging nettles. my arms look bad now. moving will be my exercise for the next 2 weeks.

I think lots of the time its the muscle gain that makes the scale seem stuck or like we have a gain. Have you measured lately?
My first time on spark I had a period of time when I didn't feel like I was losing anything- it took me like 2 months to lose 4 pounds- but then I noticed I needed new clothes and I'd lost a size! Then it happened again- 4 pounds one pants size. So I'd lost 2 pants sizes with only an 8 pound loss! At different times in my life I've been 200 pounds in a size 16 and I've been 200 pounds in a size 12... so when I'm feeling like the scale is stuck (me too right now) I try to remember to just keep it up cuz the number on the inside of my pants is more important then the number on the scale.

Having one's weight stuck is much better than gaining. I can eat small portions of food for a couple of weeks with not much movement on the scale. I say why try, go back to regular eating and the scale starts moving the wrong way.

I walked so muck at the zoo, I was so tired and still had a 3+ hour drive home. My weight is stuck! I'm thinking why keep exercising and eating smaller portions if the scale doesn't move ?

Oh pizza! I've banned it from my house! I always say I'll only have one... 4 pieces later...
Today is a new day Seattle! You'll make it a great one!

Flip- Good job maintaining despite all the eating out!

I've had a great few days, ate in ranges so far this week and this morning was my third day straight of morning jogs. My goal is to take advantage of the weather here finally getting back under 95 while I can. Come fall/winter it'll be too cold to run with the baby stroller. I've been walk/jogging 3-4 miles so I can get back into running 5ks again, I know running 1/2 marathons won't be happening anytime soon- but I'd at least like to get back into racing so I can eventually achieve my goal of running a full marathon some day. realistically there's no way I can put that sort f time into training while I have Owen in the stroller- and he's only 1 so school is still years away. But I figure if I'm running 5 and 10ks for the next few years I could be running 1/2s once he's in preschool and kinder, then be in good runners shape to train for a full once he starts full-time school. So that's the 5 year plan I was thinking of this morning on my jog :)
Other then that tonight will be my 6th night of work of my 9 day stretch. I'm so ready for a day off- Sunday can't come fast enough!

I have not eaten the best the past two days. Last week I was out of town all week so 3 meals a day eating out was horrible BUT I managed to maintain my weight. I have a wedding this weekend so will be out of town again. I'm looking forward to getting back on a good track in September.

I was off track 3 days :( I'd planned to not track Thursday for my birthday and it rolled over onto Friday and Saturday... but I'm back on track today. 1367 calories and done eating for the night.
For awhile now I've been feeling twinges of jealousy when people I know lose weight and look great (I'm not usually a jealous person- I've never been jealous about possessions and such, seems I only feel it when it comes to weight loss). Today the thought occurred to me that I need to see it as motivation instead, the people I know that have lost have worked hard for it and they deserve me to be happy for them- not jealous of them. I need to be thankful for what I have and work for the things I don't.
Anyways- that was my thought for the day that got my booty back here before 3 days turned into 3 months!

I have been stressing about my new job and hardly eating. I have a protein shake for lunch. I eat at 6:30 then lunch at 1 and dinner at 5:30. My breakfasts are small too, just a egg. I can not have water during my shift which is bad. I did manage to drop another lb but who knows. Scales suck and inches are a better judge now but more inconvenient to fiddle around with.
I am not working today so I overate at lunch. who knew Costco pizza is over 700 calories a slice ! Missy I know about the chips and salsa thing so I avoid chips, I add salsa to my scrambled eggs though.

Didn't do so good yesterday- I started out great until the afternoon when I had too many chips & salsa. The day could've still been saved but once I got home from work around 8:00 I was so hungry that instead of cooking something light I had giant bowl of cheerios. Today will be better!

I lost about 20 pounds early last year, but have put on nearly 40 since then! I really need to get motivated & start exercising again! I hate being out of breath by the time I make it to my 3rd floor office every morning. I'm so glad these message boards exist, I don't feel so alone now! Thanks everyone :-)

It can be frustrating when the scale doesn't match up with how your clothes are fitting- but I think the clothes are more important! Usually it means you're gaining muscle while you're losing fat- I've been 190 pound size 12 in my life and I've been 190 pound 16 too! I'd rather see the number on the inside of my pants getting smaller then the number on the scale :)
emoticon

I'm still doing pretty good- I walked almost 6 miles yesterday, I wish Spark had an option for calories burned while pushing a stroller. I know it's got to be a higher burn, especially when there's hills! Yesterday I decided to walk to the fruit/veggie stand instead of my normal walk along the river. The walk there was really nice- but the walk back with the bottom basket of the stroller full of watermelon, zucchini, squash, and corn with the temperature creeping above 90 was rough! Good thing I remembered to take water with me.

My daughter has been out of town for almost three weeks on a road trip with my parents to Oklahoma and they should be back tomorrow as long as they get some good miles driven today. I'm hoping they do get back tomorrow since Thursday is my birthday, i'd like to have her home for that.
I won't be tracking on my birthday- we're planning on going to the fair early in the day then ordering thai food and taking it on a picnic in the park once it starts to cool down in the evening. And I'm sure there'll be some sort of dessert. I don't even want to know the calories I'll consume that day!

I have been training on the new job so I eat little but am missing my exercise classes. I am going to stop going to the gym and save to buy some free weights and other things off of Craigs List. I am hoping I can keep up with the learned exercises i do now to do on my own.
I am in the Seattle area, Woodinville which is North of Seattle about 40 min. I am waiting impatiently on the scale going down as my measurements and clothes are getting loose.
I am drinking my water infused with mint leaves and lemon. Tomorrow I am moving to apple and cinnamon..
ug I hated the "lets play and not sleep" children. All 3 of mine did that. It made for 1 not happy mommy the next day.
Don't deprive yourself with food on your birthday. Enjoy the day.

MISSY_MAGOO Posts: 1,517

Yesterday was a tough one, but I made the best choices I could and stayed within most ranges, so it was a good enough kind of day.
last night my baby decided sleep was for the birds and had me up till 3:30 this morning... then I was up at 6:00 to get ready for work. So 2 1/2 hours of sleep, uhg, today's gonna be rough. I would like to say I could nap after work, but baby will be waiting when I get home, so i'm just hoping he lets me sleep tonight. Please don't suggest the cry-it-out method, I just can't. I'm not against it for other people ,everybody does what works best for them when raising kids. But I just can't do it, I'd rather be exhausted for two years then listen to him scream for a night, it's just too heart breaking for me.

My motivation today- my 35th birthday is next week on the 22nd, I really want to feel good that day

My plan today- eat right and swim after work

Joyful- Congrats on the loose pants!!! emoticon

I did great yesterday- after my morning jog I was super motivated all day and spot on with my eating. Today I had to get up early and run errands- which took like 4 hours. So today's a little tougher but so far I'm doing okay... not great, but okay, with eating. Lots of snacks- but mostly good choices.

I also started a week of photo food blogging yesterday which I did a few years back. The first time I blogged photos of all my food it was super helpful to get me thinking before eating again, so I'm hoping it'll be good for me to get back on track again. Next Thursday is my 35th b-day, I have a weight mini-goal for that day that won't happen, but I'd at least like to see a pound or two gone this week so that I feel good about myself that day.

Congrats on getting the job!!!!! That's a double whammy- eating out and wanting to celebrate the great news. I don't think I could've ate healthy either- especially at Outback. Even what should be healthy, like the salmon fillet and veggies, is drowning in butter. Try and move on today, that's how i'm treating today after my not good day yesterday. Today is a new day, it's not the occasional slip up that will matter in the long run, it's trying to make more good days then bad that will show on the scale.
I'm assuming you're from Seattle? I'm on the other side of the mountains n the Tri-Cities. My parents are moving from Oregon to Olympia in November, so I'll be spending more time on your side in the near future :)

This morning is going really good for me. I left my phone at work last night and didn't feel like driving back to get it so I decided to walk over there this morning. (I only work about a quarter mile from my house) It was also a good way to make myself get my work out clothes on and head out the door for a walk early since I wanted to get it before we open for the day. I'd planned on walking about 2 miles or so but once I got going I decided to try jogging. (backstory- I had a complicated pregnancy and wend from running my first half-marathon a month before I got pregnant to being told I could only be on my feet 4 hours a day and NO exercise, not even walking while pregnant. Then tried a few times to start jogging again after having baby and found that with my ginormous chest full of milk it hurt too much.) So anyways- my baby has been fully weaned for only a couple days but I thought I'd give jogging a try today- and yay! No more pain! So I ended up walk/jogging about 4 miles!
After my jog I had a good breakfast so my goal today is to keep the good day going and not screw it up.

I ate bad. no lunch (due to being nervous about a job interview) Went to Outback to celebrate me getting the job. I just can not eat good when I go out at most places probably because I hardly ever go out to eat. I did exercise and did drink my water, I am off to bed as I am tired and I don't want to eat (which I usually do at night)

This is what I'm needing right now too- hopefully it's okay if I pop in :)
Today I ate decent- stayed within range but over-ate early in the day so had to stick to veggies and chicken in the evening to save the day.
I didn't work out today- tomorrow I WILL WALK! (Okay- now I have to since I said it in all caps, heehee)
Also today was my first day since having my baby a little over a year ago that I haven't breastfed so I'm a little worried about sticking to the lower calories no that he's completely weaned-so that's my current challenge.

I am in need of some motivation and accountability. I hope it's okay that I pop in and post.

I had a bad weekend and trying to get back on track today with my diet. I have inflamed cartilage in my chest that hurts really bad so I haven't been exercising (before this I was doing T25 but I feel all the jumping around, pushups, etc. would not be the best for my chest while it's healing). I am trying to get myself motivated to do some walking until my chest gets healed.

Good job on staying wi calorie range!

Right now I am working on:

Keeping a note at the table is helpful. I noticed a couple of times I was satisfied and actually left some food on my plate.

I stayed within my range of calories... I did workout but I think I should be moving more. I eat at 9(its summer so I sleep in) have a shake after 10:30, (I workout with a group at 9:30) , lunch at 12, snack 3, dinner 5:30, snack again at 9.
tried cheesecake flavored pudding and mixed it with 2 scoops of my protein powder. (kinda good)

Motivator-accountability buddy sounds good.

Right now I am working on:
1. eating when hungry
2. enjoy what I eat
3. stop when I am satisfied.

breakfast: I multitasked and ate mindlessly. I will put a note on the table to remind me.

My motivation now is to fit into a pair of pants that I bought a size to small. I guess you can call this optimism.

If anybody else post how they did, I will post 2 - 3 times a day.

I have read your post and I am inspired by the quotes you chose to write! WOW! Congratulations on being smoke free- I quit 9 years ago and have not returned to it since. It was only the mercy of God that I quit. I have a husband that can eat a whole 7-11 and not gain an ounce. He eats 2 maybe more bowls of ice cream a night in front of the tv and it is hard not to follow suit with a snack of my own. I need motivation. I have been on Sparkpeople for three weeks and have lost and gained only two pounds. As frustrated as I want to be I just keep going and say to myself,"today is a new day I will have the willpower to not overeat." I also workout hard everytime I go to the gym. I never have a hard time meeting my time or calories burned goals but I feel bloated. Not sure what to do? Scale down my workouts or modify my diet or both?

I agree, staying motivated can be difficult especially if your spouse isn't on the spark train! My husband doesn't like to eat healthy, won't get motivated to go for a walk with me and thinks this "spark" stuff is a fad that will pass. Well I'm still buying healthy food, I'm still getting up 3 hours before him to workout and have my "zen" time, and I'm still "sparking"! Like the motto says "do what you can, with what you have, where your at". It's all about baby steps. Visit my spark page if you like and I'll help if I can. =) in the meantime, drink water, do 10 min. of exercise, and give yourself a hug!

I need someone to help me stay on track every day, if not 2 x a day. some days I do really good and others, well DH brings home a Costco cheesecake. I lost 20 lbs last Jan-April, put it all back on by Dec. then started again Jan and lost the same 20 lbs but lack the motivation to get going again.
