I hear ya! It can be hard to find that positive talk and support that we all need. In my house, I hear often how I should eat more and gain a little back so my husband can catch up with me. It's very discouraging at times. This weekend I let it get the best of me. Just know that we are all here to help one another. This is a great place to be for the support that honestly, maybe we can't get anywhere else! Good luck to you on your journey!
thanks everyone. I have felt so alone in this journey. I have one friend who is encouraging but since she is struggling right now with her weight, I know it depresses her to hear me talk about things. No one wants to talk about weight loss, exercise, healthy eating recipes, just about how to keep a person pumped up. If everyone else wants to continue to eat unhealthy food and not exercise that is their decision. Why do they have to make me feel bad about doing this? Thanks again!

If you don't find support at home or work, feel free to post on the forums. The Spark Community is not only helpful, it's supportive too.
What you might do is join some Spark Teams. There are Spark Teams for just about everything and everybody. There are cooking teams, hiking teams, mom teams, cancer survivor teams, movie lovers teams, etc. Joining teams is a great way to connect to people with similar interests.
Also, reply to threads and questions on the forums. That's another way to find motivation as well as learn from other members. You'll find the spark members are as great a resource as the spark website.
You've come to the right place! Lot's of great support and cheerful folks around here who are more than happy to chat it up with one another.

Yes! This is a very upbeat site. Lots of good success here, and my experience is that folks are willing to share and celebrate. Some things that might help: Get on a Spark Team or two that match your interests. You will find it easy to get acquainted with folks on Spark Teams. For instance, you can select a Team of Sparkers in your city, or Sparkers who follow a particular food plan (vegetarians, low carb, etc.), or Sparkers who share your hobbies, etc. Another option is to set up your Spark Page and start blogging. Some folks use the Community Journals. Post a lot on the message boards, if you want. You'll soon find that you're connecting with many nice folks here.

I have started back on my weight loss journey.I got up to 215 pounds and so miserable and tired . Today after 5 weeks of eating right and exercising I have lost 11 pounds and am down to 204. that is the most weight i have lost in years. i am so happy and want to be able to discuss my goals, plans , what I am doing. I went on a weight loss sight I have been on off and on for years. No one is really interested in talking with me. I dont know if it is the clique thing or that most people are on there but not doing well so they don't want to talk about healthy eating and exercising. I am afraid a lot of people are struggling and being upbeat is upsetting to them. I just want to be able to have some cheerful support and be able to talk to someone who is excited like I am about losing weight and getting healthy. Is this the right place to be? Thanks
