STARS4ME, I'm sorry... a piece of my heart breaks for you knowing how close one can be with their siblings. There is a lot of advice in this thread already, if something sounds like it will work, try it. Spark is a huge community of people from all over and all walks of life and we'll motivate, cheer, advise or just listen when ever you need.
Thank you all for the motivation today. I am having a tuff time coming to grasp my sister is going to die soon. I have only known for a week....your encouragement ,got me to eat even though all I can feel is emptiness like a whole in my gut. I did a pretty good job today thanks to you all.
Don't give up!!! For the last two weeks I have stayed on my plan and did not lose a pound. I kept my eye on the prize. My scale is moving down again this week!!! This is a lifestyle change. Try to think of the long term rather than the short term. If you keep plugging at it then there is no way you will fail!!! This is my mantra currently:
Even if the scale stays the same or even says I've gained...I will NOT give up. I will keep making good food choices, I will go to Zumba. I will succeed!!!!

I'm over 50 years old and started with SP in Jan/2012 at over 200 lbs. At first, I did not lose and then there were plateaus and some setbacks along the way. But I kept at it, and with the support of SP, I reached my goal weight a month ago. If I can do it, YOU CAN TOO ! Just keep making those positive changes and you will get there!

When Tomas Edison was working on inventing the light bulb he did thousands of experiments before he was successful. A reporter asked him wasn't it frustrating to fail so many times. He said " I didn't fail, I just found ways that didn't work." The book I'm reading "The Body Fat Solution" by Tom Venuto, said instead of feeling like a failure, which is an event, not a person look into what your doing. Maybe the calories in calories out aren't in the right proportions. Maybe there are other reasons. Just don't give up, Something else I read in the book this morning really got me thinking. "Body fat is not a person, it's a temporary condition" Hang in there you're so worth it.
I know how you feel, because I've been losing and regainin what I've lost. Keep making strides in making good choices and exercise. I notice that the scale isn't moving like I want to, but I'm losing inches. Whatever, you don't give up! Just keep the faith and !
