I have the metabolism of a sloth. No energy at all. I think I need to get my thyroid checked.

Daily exercise will do it. As you build up more MUSCLE, it will help. I like using Kettlebells. Great "how to" videos on Youtube.

Make sure to have a good physical with your doctor. You might have low thyroid. I follow Dr. Mercola on his web site and he says most of us who are obese have low thyroid and need medicine for it. Dr. Bernstein says we are Insulin Resistant and it helps to take Metformin in order to lose weight. I love his lectures on YouTube. He is 78 and has had Type 1 diabetes since he was 12. He was told he wouldn't live past 42. He follows a low carb diet.

At 50ish I know my metabolism is different than when I was younger. Where do I start to increase my metabolism?
