There is also a recipe using chopped pecans as the protein, have not tried but it does sound interesting.

The Lord is my strength and i know i can do better with the Lords help. The Lord laid it on my heart to start a team called GOD ANSWERS PRAYER AND I WOULD LOVE TO HAVE ANYBODY THAT WANTS HELP TO LOSE THEIR WEIGHT TO JOIN . I KNOW I CAN'T DO THIS WITHOUT THE LORDS HELP !

It's kind of hard to copy and paste because ingredients and instructions are in a few different places, BUT there is a spark recipe called "Snobby Joes on Whole Grain Hamburger Bun" on the Spark recipe app (I use the app on iPhone/iPad). It's made with lentils and is delish!

NO MEAT SLOPPY JOE

1 tablespoon olive oil
1 small chopped onion
4 ribs chopped celery
2 large chopped carrots
1 small chopped green bell pepper
1 clove garlic, minced
1 (14.5 ounce) can diced tomatoes UN DRAINED
1 tablespoon chili powder
1 tablespoon ketchup
1 tablespoon distilled white vinegar
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 (15 ounce) can kidney beans, DRAINED & RINSED

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onion, celery, carrot, green pepper, and garlic: saute until tender

Stir in tomatoes, chili powder, ketchup, vinegar, and pepper.

Cover, reduce heat, and simmer 10 minutes.

Stir in kidney beans, and cook an additional 5 minutes.

Serve with whole wheat kaiser rolls or make a bread bowl out of a kaiser roll by hollowing out the middle.

Or serve it on top of brown rice !!

I saw it in an ad for meatless mondays, but couldnt copy it down or steal the magazine..Now I am wondering.. does anyone have a recipe for a meatless sloppy joe made with beans?
