Welcome hateputer, great to have you with us!

JYJ, great job today! You should feel proud of yourself, it's awesome that you fought back and finished your walk, let alone do all the extra you did! WTG! You'll be down those 10 pounds in no time if you keep that up!

Welcome to all new people,
Today I walk for 40 minutes, I will be honest, I wanted to give up in the 10 minutes into walking I was out of breath, my feet were killing me and my heart was bumping very hard, but I didn't give up and did a total of 40 minutes. I feel proud of myself. Around ten in the morning I cut the front lawn and did an hour of gardening, I was dripping sweat, I did all of my house chores and plan to walk for another 30 minutes this evening. I need to in order to loose the ten pounds. GOOD LUCK TO ALL AND REMEMBER ITS NEVER TO LATE TO START

Just starting out today, but since I have so much to lose, 10 pounds should not be too hard in a few weeks if I just stick to the plan. Great to have this challenge to get me going. :)

Must have been a day for cleaning! I got quite a bit done today also, that's always a good workout itself. Did my ST today. Sunday I went for lunch with a friend (I was pretty good, stayed within my limits) and then we shopped a bit and went for a long walk when we got back.
Weigh in day is for me tomorrow. I've been peaking at the scale, so unless I somehow go crazy tonight and feast I should have a decent loss to report tomorrow.

Looking forward to seeing the weigh-ins posted this week. Good luck everyone!

Good Morning Everyone!
I got my workout in, lots of strength and core training today.
Burned 800 calories for my workout. Ate healthy this morning, big bowl of multi-grain cheerios. Protein shake after strength training. So I am doing good this week!
Have a great workout and stay strong, it only hurts for a bit, but the results are so worth the pain!

9/11/01 I just walked into my home-room class. The teachers were crying, the students shocked. I was in 9th grade....I lived in Pennsylvania. 40 miles from where the plane had crashed from the passengers trying to take back the flight.
God Bless the people who gave their lives.
God Bless the troops who have lost their lives, and for the ones sacrificing everything to keep our FREEDOM!
Special thank you to the men and women who wear the uniform, especially my Husband who has served 12 years and 5 deployments to keep our freedom!

I got in a 2 mile run this morning, took my 20 minutes. My husband had to go to work today, and do a drill. So Ill hit the gym right after lunch when he returns to finish off my work out for the day.

Mixed feelings today. Excited about losing 3 lbs, but still cannot handle this "anniversary". I just watched a video time line of the events and I literally feel nauseous.

So great to see all the new people here, Welcome, awesome to have you with us! These challenges are a great way to start your weight loss journey. Just keep checking in every day and let us know what you are doing to reach your goals. If you know you have a whole group of friends and supporter here waiting to hear what you've done to help with your weight loss it helps keep you on track.

We went to a Volunteer - Thank you dinner tonight at my in-laws camp. I did pretty good except I did have two small squares when the desserts came out. Hopefully the game of horseshoes, mini putt and the walks around the camp will help balance that off.

I hope everyone is having a great weekend so far! Have a great night!

Good morning everyone! Its finally the weekend!!
I have a semi-busy day today. I have already cooked a healthy breakfast for the family (except hubby, who is at work :( )
I was not planning to work out today, but I may be able to get a run in this evening, depending on what time my hubby gets home.
I have all kinds of crazy stuff planned today, cleaning, and cooking lunches for the week. I have to get all the stuff ready for school next week.
I will just be happy when I graduate from school! I have 5 semesters left before my BACHELORS is in my hand!

just got a bit of help in the dining out department, wife and i decided this morning to not eat out in order to save up as much as possible for a beach weekend in 2 weeks so that will most def help! also last night i was great we had ran out of the swiss rolls,, and I DECLINED GETTING ANY OF THEM at the grocery store lol i know i know :)

Happy Grandparents Day to any grand parents we have here!

My youngest son told me this morning we were having company for supper, he invited his grandparents (my in-laws) for supper to celebrate Grandparents Day. He was talking about it earlier in the week so it was not a complete surprise, I'm just glad he mentioned it before he went to school and not when he got home. My MIL called this morning any ways to make sure I knew and that it was OK with me too. He has a habit of arranging for them to come for dinner and forgetting to mention it to me. They know they are welcome whenever though so it's all good. I've decided to make a complete 'Spark' recipe supper for them. My FIL was stationed in Germany for 8 or 9 years so I am making Bavarian Style Cabbage, German Beef Rouladen and Roasted Green Beans and Fresh Tomotoes. All Spark recipes that I've tried before and have turned out good so hopefully they will tonight. I think dessert will just be fresh berries. Wish me luck!
Cardio for me today so I am hoping to get all my prep done and go for a bike ride before it's time to pick DS up from school. Better get at it!

Have a great day everyone and congrats on the weight loss!

hi Andrew, good to 'see' you here also. Congrats in the race, great job. Sounds like you won't have hard time keeping in shape with all the training you'll be doing for the Ironman races, what great motivation to keep working out.

I was good and did my ST like I said I would :), also got my 10,000 steps for the day in and stayed well in my target ranges for all nutrients. Hoping for good results on the scale!

Good to see the familiar faces back in the 10 pound thread! Keep after it! I know you all can polish this thing off!

I was successful in my quest to ride the Hotter 'N Hell Hundred in under five hours: 4:51. I was really trying to post a 4:30 or better but a flat tire and support vehicle passing us took that hope away. Oh well...on to the next challenge. Looks like I'll be doing a Half-Ironman in October of next year (assuming my body can handle it). If I pull that off, I'm afraid I'll try the full 140.6 mile Ironman the next year.

Welcome to everyone new! Great to have you with us!

Alisha, I've been 'peaking' at the scale to and so far it looks good, my weigh in will be Tuesdays now as that is when I checked my damage from the summer. I can't help checking my weight every morning, it helps keep me motivated if it's good or gets me going if it's bad.

Had to run a ton of errand today and cut the grass (takes me about an hour as we have a big yard and an old mower) so I got a bit of a work out doing that, I'm going to do my ST any minute now. I have to confess that after posting last night I ended up not doing the 10 min. Spark video workout I was planning to do, not sure why just started doing something else and life got in the way, I really have to do things as soon as I say I am. Guess I better get going then and do my strength training, don't try to stop me!

Have a great night!

Icy hot has become my best friend these days!
Tomorrow is my last day of working out for the week, I get to take Saturday off. Ill start my week fresh on Sunday!
Tomorrow is weigh in, I sneaked a peak at the scale already and its looking good!
Hope everyone is doing well emoticon emoticon

Hi everyone!

Well I worked my butt off today (almost literally!). I did the Jillian Micheals Kettle ball workout, then plopped my 10 month old little girl into the stroller and took her for a 3.5 mile run. She loved the running part! Burned about 500 calories today, my intake isn't half bad, about 1300 calories. However the problem I am running into right now is being able to eat enough calories for the amount of calories I am burning. I burn 4200-4500 Calories a week, my intake is supposed to be 1830-2180 a day. I am missing usually about 400-600 calories. I don't know where to pick up the extra calories!
I am very carb conscious. I try to eat under 130g a day of carbs. I boosted the protein to about 120-180g a day. Also been drinking about 14 cups a water a day. By not eating all to many carbs it reduces my calorie intake because there is virtually nothing out there without carbs!

Hi everyone,
Sounds like lots of us are in the same place, trying to make up for 'slip ups' during the summer. I am so disappointed in myself for putting back on that 10 pounds.

As far as advice to help with the weight loss, for myself I have come to realize that tracking my food really helps me. I really need to be consistent with it so I am always conscious of what I eat, for some reason I hate to have to track unhealthy food so as long as I am tracking everything I rarely eat things I know I shouldn't. I've stopped keeping any kind of junk food that I like in the house, for the others in my family I usually just by some treats that won't tempt me so they don't miss out and I can stay on track.

As far as work outs instead of the elliptical Brian... Do you have a Wii? Most of those workouts shouldn't hurt your elbow, they may not make you work up a good sweat as fast though, but it's better than nothing. What about some of the workout videos Spark has, a lot of them are only 10 mins long so you could choose ones that won't hurt your elbow and do them and there are quite a few to choose from so you shouldn't get bored with them too quick. Walking is always good too!

I still have not done a 'workout' today. I did shop with my Aunt for almost 5 hours though so at least I wasn't sitting around. Think I'll try out one of those videos I was talking about :)
I was good today, I didn't think my Aunt had too long to be out today so I packed a sandwich, fruit and veggies to have while I finished my errands so when she suggested we go out for lunch we went to a place where I could sit and eat what I brought. Last week I'm sure my lunch would have been tossed in favor of one of the wraps or burgers there! I'll have to remember to keep packing snacks or lunches if I'm going to be out for a while.

Wow, sorry for rambling on for so long, trying to avoid getting back to work!

Bye for now, remember to let us know what you are doing to stay on track, helps keep you honest!

Good Luck everyone and have a great night!

I'm not going to have a pity-party though, I'm just gonna jump right in on this challenge & start making a difference today. I had lost 17 pounds but now I've gained about half of it back :( Even if I dont make it to 10 for the month of September, I will settle for 6-7. I need motivation you guys...so keep me PUMPED!!!!

Hi, good luck everyone!

I am back to join the challenge and hopefully lose the 10 pounds I seemed to have put on the last few weeks of the summer. I really am ready to get back on track and re-lose those pounds that I worked so hard to lose the first time.
I started doing these challenges last September and they are awesome to keep you on track, so I'll be checking in everyday to report what I am doing and to see what everyone else is doing. Hopefully we can all work together to keep each other on track, I've more than proven to myself that I really need you and these challenges!
Did my strength training today and hubby and I are heading out for a walk in a few minutes. Most importantly I have started to track all my food again (as of today :)) and my exercise. Worked for me last time so I am hoping it will again this time.

Brian, so glad to hear your getting back on track again too, let's make September the start of great things!
