Hi emoticon and congratulations on beginning your Spark journey!

There's so much here to help you along the way and excellent advice to setting and achieving healthy goals. With the thousands and thousands of fellow Sparkers you will always find someone you can connect with. I am always amazed how many lives have been changed for the better through the use of SparkPeople.

If you have not already done so, I suggest that you check out the videos in the "Healthy Lifestyle" section. Scroll down for the site orientation videos.

That should point you in the right direction. I find that if you just start looking around Spark, you will quickly learn about the wonderful tools available for your use. After being a Sparker since 2007, I still find something new and very useful.

Welcome and best wishes!

Welcome to Spark People!

Be sure to check out the Spark People videos. There are videos for both strength training and cardio. Also, check out some of the articles. There are plenty of articles that discuss the benefits of cardio and strength training.

And congratulations on your progress!

Hello and welcome to SparkPeople. I found that I felt better within a fortnight of starting to exercise regularly - and now I'm so used to feeling this well, I've nearly forgotten what it was like before. SP is a great place to learn new healthy habits!

i'm on a quest to be healthier then i ever been before.i am a 52 year old man,i've started working out in late July because of being over weight for my age,now that i've been in the gym and doing some of the things that is required for me to lose the weight and get fit i fined myself feeling alittle better in morning. And looking forward to the next days work out. It was suggested that i do alot more cardio then strenght training, because the key is to lose the weight not gain.So i'm here looking for all the suggestion that will help me on journy. thank you
