Try thinking about it that a adverage flight is 10 feet, maybe count how many floors you're climbing? Hope this helps.

one of my favorite workouts is climbing the bleachers! If I'm at the indoor basketball gym, I run them. If I'm at the outdoor football stadium, I climb as fast as I can, but no way would it be considered a run.

I do have a HRM. I manually added "Bleachers" as a workout favorite and I log my time and calories.

Oh jeez...that's how exhausted I am. Haha, apparently I missed that part...or the part where she said she was running up stairs, not walking.

Just to be clear - I suggested NOT using the stair stepper log. It won't be accurate for running up stairs.

When you can afford it, I definitely suggest a good HRM that tells you calories burned - that way you can manually enter "stairs" for X amount of time and X amount of calories burned. HRM are wonderful gadgets! :)

Edit: I took out the part where i said to log it as the stair stepper...missed the part where you said you were running, not walking haha

The stair stepper would be equivalent to walking up stairs. If you're running, you're definitely doing more than that.

An HRM is really your best solution. They're quite a bit cheaper than the fitbit/bodybugg type of devices and it would be very useful for you for calculating burn in that particular activity.

My favorite form of cardio is running up and down stairs. There is a place along the Niagara River that has a decently large outdoor stair case that also has a BEAUTIFUL view, and I am a firm believer that it is better for both my soul and bank account to use "nature" as my gym. However, when it comes time to track my exercise I don't know what to do. The only option for "stairs" is the stair stepper. Will that track the same? If it tracks differently, how should I enter it?

Thanks in advance for the help! Ive looked everywhere on here and I can't find an answer outside of "get a fitbit/ bodybug / etc and track that way", but I just splurged on a new pair of running shoes so it will take me a while to save up the money to be able to afford one.
