Hello and Welcome to SparkPeople!

I started Sparking in June of 2007. By using Spark and some self discovery along the way, I'm down 50 pounds, and am holding steady at a healthy weight. Spark is a massive site, you'll be discovering new and exciting things for months to come!

Welcome to sparks so glad you have joined us

Take time as often as you can to participate on all the groups you have joined - lots of encouragement there.

I am also a senior - and losing the weight when older is a challenge.

Suggestion I would make is to look at getting the Spartk Activity Tracker - I received mine on Thursday and must say it is motivating me to get up and move more during the day

hello everyone. thanks to all who have sent messages greeting me here as a new member. a little about myself, I'm a 67 year old widower from Ohio. I gained a lot of weight starting about 8 years ago when I quit smoking. now I have diabetes and high blood pressure. that's why I'm here. I am just now getting my diabetes under control and starting to stick to a better diet to keep it down and lose weight. I stumbled on this site as I was looking for recipes and now i'm here to stay.
