Hi emoticon and congratulations on beginning your Spark journey!

There's so much here to help you along the way and excellent advice to setting and achieving healthy goals. With the thousands and thousands of fellow Sparkers you will always find someone you can connect with. I am always amazed how many lives have been changed for the better through the use of SparkPeople.

If you have not already done so, I suggest that you check out the videos in the "Healthy Lifestyle" section. Scroll down for the site orientation videos.

That should point you in the right direction. I find that if you just start looking around Spark, you will quickly learn about the wonderful tools available for your use. After being a Sparker since 2007, I still find something new and very useful.

Welcome and best wishes!

Hello all. I am the kandman. i have been a member of one of those other sites and wanted to see if there was anything better out there. i am starting my journey at 293 hopping to break the 200 mark sometime next year. i eat rather well and am very conscious of what i eat, however i do tend to loose motivation here and there if i don't see results (i was stuck on 295 for about 4 months). so i am wanting to have a fresh start and see how this site works.

as for who i am, i am from winnipeg canada, married to a wonderful woman who is scheduled for gastric by pass surgery, and father to a wonderful little 4 year old (almost 5). I am a student of civil engineering technology and a former cabinetmaker. i love baseball hockey (GO JETS GO!!) and golf.

i am hoping to find motivation. i have a great motivational group here at home but need help on site too.

that's about all i can think of now

slainte mnath (pron: slanga va) it's a Gaelic saying loosely translated it means health to you
