Like others, I make them for both meals and snacks. I've had them be up to 500 calories, for which they then HAVE to be a meal for me.
I have to say.... these smoothies are a tremendously helpful way to get vegetables in. I don't like salads, and smoothies are the way to go for me. As healthful as Kale is, I much prefer spinach. I prefer kale cooked.

If it's more than 400 calories, I use it to as a meal (normally breakfast).
If it's less than 300 calories, it's a snack between meals.

I love them for any meal/snack.

I make them for breakfast, and then usually only need a little something else (like a hard boiled egg, small yogurt, some cereal, etc) a little later on to hold me over til lunchtime :)
