I love the Elliptical!! I feel like it is softer than everything else to my joints. Another good alternative is to swim :)

I wear a knee brace on my left knee when I get on the treadmill, seems to help a lot and I don't feel any knee soreness afterwards.

i just got my rebounder and it is beyond awesome. I was jumping and running and no impact on my joints. But I agree about the shoes as well.

If I pump my arms I can elevate my pulse and it helps with my workout, and not hard on the knees.

If your knees hurt, look to your shoes.

Have you been properly fitted at a running store for your individual foot's needs? Proper support is important for your joints.

And a side note, sweating is not an indicator of effort or workout effectiveness... it's a sign your body is working to cool itself down. :) That's all!

Do you have access to a pool? I like to water jog, it's easy on the knees and is a good workout!

I've recently started exercising about a month and a half ago--I started out with the 30 day shred, it was tough at first, but now it doesn't do much for me... I hardly sweat at all.
I've started running/walking 1 minute intervals, which really feels like a workout to me! I sweat a ton and I feel great afterwards.

The only thing is my knees are a little painful--I'd like to run more and get a good cardio workout, but i don't want to injure my knees!

I plan on biking once the weather gets nice.... but for now theres still snow!

any advice?
