Hello! I'm not technically new to SparkPeople, but I am new to participating here on the message boards. I made one of my Fast Break goals to post something everyday, so I figure this is a good place to start.
Here I am back at SparkPeople after a long hiatus, because of the great tools for tracking nutrition and exercise. Recently I made the switch to a gluten-free diet in order to try to control GERD symptoms without the use of medications. I've quit Prilosec cold-turkey after three years of use and using natural alternatives to help cope with the transition.
My goal is to lose 30 pounds before my sister's wedding at the end of June. After that I'd like to continue losing about 55-60 lbs in total. But my focus is good health!! I hope that weight loss occurs as a wonderful side effect of lifestyle changes. :D
I'm 43, with a daughter in art college. I'm recently remarried (we eloped in Vegas!). I enjoy reading, making jewelrly, playing the Sims, walking, studying Japanese, and whatever else strikes my fancy.
Currently I'm beginning training for my first 5K!!
